Economy stonks v27: banks, the kings of vega

i figured that, too (since elon just got subpoenaed in the jpm/epstein case).

but apparently, he made a joke about a city so vast and large that the mere mentioning of it is banworthy for "doxing" a mod. this forum has aids.
permaban or like one of those 1 week bans?

Demand destruction now in play folks, are you watching?! Alarm bells should be ringing from here. Dr Copper is now starting to roll over which doesn't bode well for markets which is a solid indicator uncertainty and doubt is starting settle in.

What I think will happen next: Big Tech will get hammered next like the rest of the market. Folks will start rotating into consumer staples and defensive stocks. Anybody buying Big Tech up here are playing hot potato.

Ultimately companies with solid balance sheets that can weather this economic storm will pay nicely I suspect (referring to small/med cap stocks). There isn't much value in megacap stocks IMO, that trade has already played out. Serious bargains starting to appear here if you dig through the trash. I think Oil will come good again once this is over because geopolitics rn is just too complex.

Fasten seatbelts ladies and gents!

I think this happened earlier this year? I mostly invest in tech stocks (big brain ape) and it went down big. Now it’s going back up, especially AMD and NVD.

I also bought NVO and that went up really high. My mistake:

Selling Tesla at $125

I mostly buy VTI now and less individual stocks. Might put extra funds into high interest savings.

I've really been taking a look at regional banks, since all this malarkey has been going down, and I finally purchased one: East West Bancorp EWBC.

It's kind of an unusual one. It was built in the 1970's to specifically cater to the Chinese-American immigrant community in California. Even though they are an American bank, they actually also have a license in China, with a small handful of locations there. 120 or so locations overall, $6 billion market cap.

In at $47.7.

He went the doxxing route? Ewwwww

I’m in this group on Twitter that loves OTC. I told Rob about one of them (should see an update this week) but IBRX mooned today after FDA confidence and sold half. This cancer drug if legit… to the moon
IBRX still running. I’m going to hold the other half for a bit. Could be insane…. House money

Been doing it since 07 and I'm outperforming my man. It can be done. I'm actually in the process of going back over my past results with a fine tooth comb, incorporating some fixed-income investments into my overall return to see what it is. I'm up to 2013. My annual return is first, S&P 500 annual total return in bold next:

07: 7.04% 5.49%
08: -6.78% -37.00%
09: 15.85% 26.46%
10: 14.56% 15.06%
11: 16.09% 2.11%
12: 17.46% 16.00%
13: 33.18% 32.39%

Keep up the good work!

Oh yes indeed. TTWO up 10% post-market, to $137. I've got an average cost per-share or $111 or so.

Dollar-cost averaging slowly into this one last year/early this year was a wise decision. First started buying in the mid $120's, then got in as low as mid $90's.

Speaking of video games, the latest Zelda just came out, and it's getting A+ reviews and is the fastest selling Nintendo game ever (in the Americas). On top of the Mario movie doing something like $1.2 billion last I saw, things are looking good. NTDOY up 18% or so since March 1st.

Flipped some $BX and $APL calls yesterday. Been a while since I flipped something for 20%+ in a half a day.
$UNG is starting to piss me off. I am up 5% but my goal when I bought was $8. Natty Gas supply is tightening, and futures are up and $UNG can’t hold any fucking gains.
Thought I would have been out already. It needs to hold $7 or I will have to wait until winter to get my $8.

Saw the Mario Movie twice. My 5 year old loves it. Good movie. He plays all the Mario Games and as a family the 4 of us play Mario Kart. Can’t get the wife or daughter to play Mario Golf but my son will play with me if I do a couple Mario Karts with him

Got back in $TREE this morning after insider buying. It’s a long play. They made massive cuts so very lean right now.
$TREE is like a stock booty call for me as much as I have been in and out of it, which includes option plays on both sides.

I haven't actually owned a Nintendo console since the Wii. I'll probably get the next one the release. Been a while since I've made everyone eat my dust.

Well, i've tapped out. It's over.

Sold BABA today. Bought in from Dec 2021 to March 2022. Made a return of -26.2%. Not my finest moment. Fortunately I only risked about 0.2% of my portfolio on it, so i'll live. Reading about all their spinoffs makes my head feel like it is going to spinoff. I'm out.

Also sold TSM. Bought in from November until just a few days ago. Returned 9.43%. The position was also small, about the size of BABA. Helps ease the BABA pain a bit. An incredible and incredibly important company, with a lot of unknowns in future. Not just the risks of the China invasion, but the costs from opening up their new facilities worldwide, and how profitable they'll be vs. the past.

Cash will be going, at least in part, to slowly averaging in to LLY.

That's atrocious

Somehow I think Enron Muskrat had something to do with it
