not random hypotheticals.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wd...9-cases-in-state-151-deaths-reported/31969586

Deaths in Louisiana multiplying daily and still raising, reaching the hundreds. Governor saying they currently have 1% of the ventilators they need.

The plan...let’s get everyone back out there spreading this ASAP guys! Those are rookie numbers! Let’s get the deaths in the thousands and the supplies under .5%!

There are 332 people on ventilators in a state of 4.6 million - after Mardi Gras.....and you think the entire economy should be shut-down!!!????? Derp.

Keep throwing your percentages around instead of looking at raw numbers. They sound much more scary!

I showed you real numbers of multiple places in the United States where the death toll is multiplying daily and the health care services are vastly under supplied and stretched beyond their limits. Doctors meeting to discuss do not resuscitate orders for corona patients because shit is so out of control and the staff is worried about dying from lack of resources, shown you numbers that prove isolation can reverse drastic situations like in Washington, and you’re argument is let’s rush everyone back in the country back into contact ASAP so we all ended up just as fucked because a recession blows? Derp!

just my .02,

but it's not contained, it's not going to be contained, we're already exposed and some hospitals are already full... so what's the point of pro-actively destroying the economy, then?

i suspect the cv deaths wouldn't skyrocket, they'd probably be a bit higher (short-term) but probably the sameish long-term, as this flatten the curve disaster merely prolongs the outbreak.

meanwhile, a lot of us are sitting around with antibodies in our blood and no job to do because forced shutdowns.

acb, sdc, grpn are some of my targets. shit, i have a fuckton of targets today. green morning with high iv? THETA GANG

Per year? Double whatever the flu is.

25k in the last past 12 days.

It's killing at a faster rate than the flu does already.

350-650k on average globally die of the flu.

650000/365 = 1780 per day
25000/12 = 2083 per day

At the current rate of growth it will be killing at twice the rate of the flu long before it gets close to flu level casualties.

fuck this flu talk, the IV is like 300% on both ends right now.

hahahahahhaa

Think we’ve seen the lowest the stock market will go with this thing? Or will there be more hard spikes taking Dow below 18k?

none of us have crystal balls, but there are some plays to be made. hell, there are LOTS of plays to be made right now.

and again, for like the 1378548th time - if one is a long-term investor (vs trader, ie: brackis/me), it likely doesn't matter much. these prices (generally) look pretty good for longs... at least, imo.

edit: the only thing that looks especially (key word here) risky is buying contracts (well, except maybe some LEAPS). the iv is hilariously insane. i did just buy some uso 12/2022 calls, though. this looks like the oil drop i was waiting for (i already had toes in, but now a bit more)

but i've been playing both/all sides on a lot of things, due to the ridonculous premiums via iv.

Huh? Where are you getting this number from?

bad flu season in US = 60000
60000 / 50 states = 1200 avg per state
1200 x 2 = double avg per state

someone said they would worry if it got worse than double a bad flu season for Texas.

come on, man. this is just silly.

lolz @ trying to math the previous number from ????? and lolzors @ trying to math the usa as (50)texas.

if you not talkin stocks, can you please shut the fuck up

if you not talkin stocks, can you please shut the fuck up

i think it's too late for that. every time one mentions stocks/trades, it gets 0-2 responses and buried under walls of covid panic and people shit-talking being in the market in any capacity.

it's ironic - the other threads (6?) were basically just 3-4 people, way slower, and much better. and you know, about trades.

regardless, i'm loving this crazy IV and selling crappy contracts for way too much moneys to stupid bulls/bears.

picked up some utx (again) today. seems like easy money given the merger with raytheon.

Frustrating day.
I bet mostly on shorts and my two biggest are up on nothing/sham news (Tesla and Planet Fitness)

Yesterday was nuts. Cheesecake Factory comes out and says they can’t pay their employees and their stock goes up 15%.

this market is a sham.

lolz @ tanking solid businesses over covid fearmongering = normal
the market pricing in this shit = "sham"

*facepalm*

never change!

So you’re telling me that there is no manipulation going on this this market? Record unemployment and incoming inflation and insane fed pumping? No manipulation? CAKE literally unable to pay its workforce for the foreseeable future = a 15% bump?

bro, you’ve already shown you’re a moron... don’t
keep it going.

lolz @ calling me a moron and being too triggered to even finish the sentence. such intelligence.

lolz @ complaining about market manipulation because of the fed - as if that was any surprise. it's as if the fed didn't make an announcement about "unlimited qe" ahead of time. i can see how you were blindsided by this complete surprise, 1-2 weeks later.

lolz @ calling the market a "sham" and "manipulated" because it's irrational, as if it's anything new. at all.

yes, I'M the moron. /s

#1 I’m way ahead in this market right now because I took appropriate actions based on foresight not ignorance like you.
#2 A month ago you said this virus would cause “minimal” economic impact.
#3 recently you tried to backtrack and say “it’s not the virus which is causing the impact it’s the reaction to the virus” which is totally idiotic.
