bought ford, gm, gopro, etc expecting them to bull rush. currently wondering if i'm bagholding gopro. bought more a few minutes ago. sub-$6 seems baffling to me after mexico deal.
bought some shit and sold a ton of asst early.

You are always missing something and the market will always be weird.

for clarification, i meant that i feel like i'm missing some sort of major news. that most everyone else knows. *shrugs*

Though I admit I sometimes trade on news, it isn't a good strategy. By the time news trickles down to people like you and me, it is often worthless. There is a saying, buy the rumor and sell the news. I wondered when good news came out that stocks took a drop, it was because people already knew it was coming and bought on the rumor then sold on thew news and used people like me for liquidation to unload their stocks. Big firms can't just dump or buy stock cuz it would make the price move too much, so they need liquidity. They need volume. So they can stir up a narrative that gets people buying so there are enough buyers to dump it on. But then again, you can literally copy a trade from something you see on CNBC and have it deliver. So there is no pattern at all.

GoPro is one of those dying hardware companies I talk about. Hardware is a tough business. It is like fitbit. These stocks will never die and just kick around the bottom for decades and people just try to swing them on that. GoPro is one of the most traded stocks on robinhood so that gives some evidence for my theory. It is small time guys on robinhood trying to swing.

Ok, I am looking at GoPro now, what is your average? It is obviously in a downtrend but could come back. It's right around its support levels. If it drops beyond that level it could get even uglier.

I sat there and said the same thing over Tilray for weeks. This is crazy. Same thing with Huya and IQ when they rocketed. Then I realized I was the crazy one for not buying. Sometimes just going with the flow works.

Mine gave back all its gains im sad. Thats what I get for leaving my trading desk to "let it ride" and do other things with my Monday morning ugh

i'm not worried. i'm not even complaining. i'm just surprised and voicing it because it seems contrary to logic, logistics, financials, etc. ie: my apparent misstep can be your gain.

I shorted GoPro from 7 down to about 6.2 last week. I wouldn't touch it now. Looks perfectly placed for a roulette spin and nothing more.

Seconds matter. I feel unsafe when I can't check my stocks. My swings are working good today. Sold Cloudera at a higher level and will buy back if it drops to a certain level. I think this thing can still be swung plus it owes me money. OPTN is up. INFN is up. Chap is chapping. I basically just sell these when up and buy when they crash. Because they seem to do both consistently.

Yeah I nibbled a little, but I'm half expecting a squeeze to the upside and then getting in.
edit: ayyyy they missed and increased their net loss! 10% scalp at least incoming

Bought Salesforce, they are down today because they bought another company. It is normal for a stock to temporarily drop when making an acquisition, unless you are somebody like Oxy and keep being stupid and it keeps dropping.

look at the volume today though. it is massive. lol. 5 times average. The other drops also had big volume and came back though. Who knows. Good company long term at least.
