They were showing a graphic yesterday of Apple vs Disney streaming. Pixar is a big one for Disney which is kind of ironic since Steve Jobs breathed life into the company and was its largest shareholder. His widow is the biggest owner of Disney stock I think. That was right up Jobs' alley. Computers and art together. Animation.

Guy on CNBC said Tim Cook needs to go. They should buy Disney or Netflix he said.

Apple should buy them? Apple already had issues years ago with having Netflix and Amazon on their platforms. That would be interesting.

Yeah this about tied for my best all time week. Some pure luck timing the market (eg. ejected Bootbarn) but these high float stocks with huge news events and a quick trigger finger has gotten me at least half the gains. NFLX continuing to shit.

This thread is good for my trading psyche.

Do some research on Grubhub. They were downgraded today plus Uber Eats is a threat. The stock was reduced to a $100 target price. It trades in the 60s. lol. So even the guy who downgraded it thinks it has almost a 40% upside. I am not sold on the business at all in the long term but it may be a good scalp. Unusual call activity on it too.

I'm not terribly bullish tbh. DoorDash is growing massively and UberEats is throwing absurd dough at TV advertising.

Its not a long term play. There are at least 5 GrubHub commercials on CNBC a day. I think they are trying to get us to buy the stock and not the service. lol.

All these cut into restaurant profits too. I watched a video on it recently.

UNH took another beating today. Healthcare insurers are getting slapped around in the past month over political uncertainties.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't own much in that space. I own pfizer which has been shit. They are missing out on these rallies.

I've basically seen every retail type company that advertises on channels I watch has gotten slaughtered lately. Tailored and Kay being prime examples

Actually I think that is a good target demographic for Grub. CNBC. Male. Probably at least middle income. Men don't like to cook. So they are going after guys who don't care much about a few extra bucks for delivery. They can get a real meal delivered. I'm just picturing a white collar worker using this for lunch.

It is something the guys on CNBC would use for example. lol.

China's Workers Are Protesting Tech's Deadly '996' Overtime Culture. Alibaba's Jack Ma Says He Requires It.

To survive at Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. you need to work 12 hours a day, six days a week. That’s what billionaire Jack Ma demands of his staff at China’s biggest e-commerce platform.

Ma told an internal meeting that Alibaba doesn’t need people who look forward to a typical eight-hour office lifestyle, according to a post on Alibaba’s official Weibo account. Instead, he endorsed the industry’s notorious 996 work culture — that is, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week.

“To be able to work 996 is a huge bliss,” China’s richest man said. “If you want to join Alibaba, you need to be prepared to work 12 hours a day, otherwise why even bother joining.”

China’s tech industry is littered with tales of programmers and startup founders dying unexpectedly due to long hours and grueling stress. The comments from Ma elicited some intense reaction.

CNBC is traders and old people. I'm not saying it isn't a good for the demo, but I'm saying the demo isn't strong enough to carry the company despite being the nucleus of business.
Just like Mens Warehouse is perfect for ESPN and pays Jessie Palmer to make people think suits are still cool, but the stock is getting crushed.
If them and lyft joined forces maybe, but otherwise theyre gonna get crushed as an outsider despite first to market status. Just like my favorite ridesharing service was SideCar and it was superior to Lyft and Uber in literally every major feature, but got crushed nonethless because the mass-market didn't give a fuck about them and likes to go with the herd.

It's mostly insurers taking the beating because of this whole universal healthcare debate. Healthcare equipment makers and technology companies are thriving.

I used to work with some Chinese in real estate industry. They have the mentality that you are not done until the work is done. Unpaid overtime is the norm, not a rarity. It's about the same with Huawei from those I know.

Plus high drug prices. That is a big issue in the US that Trump and the Democrats seem to agree on. The pharmacies like CVS blamed it on the pharma companies. lol.

JNJ has been mediocre too but I added some today. They have earnings on Tuesday. Netflix and United Health too.

I saw a blurb saying Apple's China sales were picking back up and they were the only ones that grew China market share.

Apple is always dying according to the media. I watch this retail guy. Apple is disrupting the watch space.
