I'm looking for a stock for my Mossberg 500 Cruiser.

Any suggestions?

I think they make knoxx stock for mossberg 500s. I had one on my 870 and I loved it.

Trade your pistol grip to some :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: for his oe stock.

Fuck pistol grip anything for a shotgun, get a "field" stock in whatever LoP you prefer. Controls on shotguns do not lend themselves well to any form of pistol grip.

Drexl says you're doing it wrong.

Have a knoxx stock. It sucks ass. Absolutely hate how it makes the recoil feel on the shotgun.

Will swap mine back to the standard stock when I have time.

Stay away from the Knoxx special ops stocks.

I bought the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock for my 870, I hated that thing too. What I find with pistol grips, even pistol gripped stocks, aside from all the control issues I mentioned earlier, I found it redirected recoil from the shoulder to the wrist and web of the hand.

Came to post that....and in the future, don't be a neck beard and buy pistol grip shotguns just because they look cooL in the movies lol.

Too late!

In my defense the thing is fun to shoot (at things close up) with birdshot. :p

I've seen people lose teeth shooting pistol grip shot guns the wrong way and when I've shot them that's all they were is "fun", I just can't imagine a practical use for them, I know mossberg markets them as a survival gun but I'd still rather have a shitty fold over stock even for that purpose.

Mossberg used to sell those as a package that had the standard stock as well as a pistol grip, also 2 barrels, one longer one for bird hunting and one shorter one. It always seemed like a cool package.

I've never really upgraded a cheap pump action shotgun (or any shotgun), all the 500s and 870s I've had have been real beaters which was always the appeal of them (to me). I sort of lol a bit when people have a 300 dollar shotgun and put 500 dollars of "upgrades" that are purely aesthetic on them.

Btw, that hogue one you got is pretty good but the hogue oversold stuff is hard to clean, at least for me, I'm from a dusty area and the sticky rubber those are covered with was a dust magnate. I have a 10/22 with that and had a few rifles with it.

I agree they aren't very practical. Maybe a laser sight would be good for shooting from the hip?

Thanks for the heads up on the Hogue/dust issue (which I have lots of in my area). If it sucks too bad then at least I'm only out $50 and some change.

When I got my first hogue I thought it was amazing, I could bump it into trees and stuff and it wasn't loud at all, but it just got so dirty and sticky. Try it though, see if you like it.

I pulled it out last night when replying to this thread. The stickiness issue seems easy to believe. I'm sure my grubby hands will dirty it up too.

I have to admit that after inheriting all the guns with wood stocks I'm liking the wood more and the Hogue less. But I totally dig the forend with the strap that says Mossberg so I'll have to stick with synthetic black tacticool for the stock.

Have you seen the one they make where you hold the pump like a chainsaw from the top? They used to sell one with the chainsaw grip and a massive compensator....that was the ultimate neck beard Mountain Dew basement dwelling gun haha.

Yeah I can't imagine purchasing that thing haha. Speaking of hogue stocks, I just saw they have zombie green stocks for shotguns now...lol.
