Against Junior Dos Santos - Rounds 1, 2 and 5 were clear Miocic rounds. Even one of the Sherdog writers had the fight for Miocic.

Against Stefan Struve - Miocic completed dominated the first round, then an unfortunate slip in the second round resulted in him getting tagged with a good shot sending him into a downward spiral of defeat.



Stipe Miocic will be champion for a very, very long time. He's like a better version of Mirko Crocop and without the glass jaw.

Both his losses came from gassing, it looks like he's improving in that area though. Also the JDS fight wasn't a robbery, both guys did a lot of damage but Junior landed more strikes overall, scored a big knockdown and was even the one to get a takedown(even though he did nothing with it in typical Junior fashion).

From the very first time I saw Stipe fight I said to myself this guy can be a champion one day. I questioned that a bit when he got KO'd by Struve but I let it go after he keep winning after that. The JDS fight was a clear loss. It was a close fight and he did amazingly well but he lost that fight. I'm glad he's the champ now he's earned it he learned from that loss and made the changes he needed to make in order to win.

That doesn't always mean he's the best, plus it's mma math. He didn't beat JDS and that fight was fairly recent, and I think both Overeem and Cain are more skilled and more complete. I think Stipe struggles with them no matter where the fight goes. That doesn't mean Stipe isn't good, he is, but that it's kinda like with Rothwell who won a bunch of fights in a row and people were jumping on board, even though his skill isn't as good as his recent results.
