Stipe Miocic - have I missed something?

He’s taking some much deserved time off, having kids. At the end of his career. Probably only has one or two fights left.

Once the Franc/Gane fight is over, He’ll probably be next up. Since Jones doesn’t want to fight him.

Just like the woke potato's say in every thread about Usman.... It Must Because Stipes white is why people dislike him.

Stipe holds the record for most wins in heavyweight title fights along with the longest title defending streak in the heavyweight division. Arguably one of the greatest Heavyweights in UFC History.

Yet what I don’t understand is this, how can he hold those accolades and yet not be given an immediate rematch for his title after a loss? Case in point..

He loses by KO to Cormier, rather than give Stipe the immediate rematch he deserves off the back of his impressive Heavyweight run, DC is allowed to defend against Derrick Lewis before running it back with Stipe.

He then gets his rematch with Cormier and wins via TKO…. Cormier (company man/shill) is then given immediate rematch with Stipe ??

Stipe eventually lose title in his rematch with Ngannou (going 1-1) and seems to be out in the wilderness with barely a mention at fighting to get his belt back again. Instead we’ve got Gane and Ngannou.

Have I missed something? Do the UFC or Dana have something against Stipe? You’d think a heavyweight with the accolades stipe has in the UFC would get treated slightly better and more respectfully.
The UFC for sure never really liked Stipe but if I recall Stipe declined an immediate rematch or didn't want to step back in so Lewis was offered the fight. For Stipe's sake I don't think he should be stepping right back in with Ngannou. Gane might be a more favorable matchup for him. Stipe has been known to wait around and take his time coming back

Let's not complain when someone doesn't get an immediate rematch. Immediate rematches are stupid and should only happen in the case of an obviously unintentional foul that ends the fight, or a freak injury.

I’m not saying everyone should get immediate rematches. But if you’ve been on a run and have the accolades Stipe has in the Heavyweight division, an exception should be made for his individual case. In my opinion.

I agree with everything you said.

Stipe is a class act and totally underappreciated/undervalued by the UFC.

He put on an absolute clinic against Ngannou the first fight.

Yes, Ngannou improved his skills, countered Stipe, and got a knockout. Credit to Francis.

But was a flash knockout, and if any heavyweight champion in UFC history deserved an immediate rematch, for sure it was Stipe Miocic.

AND he’s 1-1 with Ngannou. Winning the first fight via 5 round dominant mauling.

Even without the accolades Stipe has, the storyline is there between those two.

i rewatched the fight tons times Stipe need to improve to get rematch I’m their first fight it was competitive with an out of shape nGannou who had no real structured camp the rematch stipe literally only punch he landed was the one that ended him he even got taken down stipe need put on size like he said then maybe after nGannou beat gane he can fight someone else get shot that fight was total domination

Problem is every fighter thinks they are the exception.

I rather see Francis fight gane then Lewis just cuz stupid trolls always bring that stinker fight up then stipe rematch

Most likely from the way he loss. It wasn't really competitive so that makes it hard to campaign for an instant rematch. He didn't just get caught, he was losing the whole fight before the KO. I understand the Conor vs Aldo debate and people want to see more from their fight since it was over during the 1st real exchange, but his fight with Ngannou wasn't that. He failed with the takedowns and was getting beat in every aspect of the fight before the KO happened. He should just focus on fighting other fighters and having and impressive performance to campaign for a rematch. If he wants to wait out for an instant rematch it might not happen for years unless he's waiting to see the results of Gane vs Ngannou and try to get an instant title fight with Gane. That may be what he's planning on but if Ngannou wins, then that plan goes out the window.

Its a bit hypocritical of the ufc for giving masvidal and colby rematches despite losing both their fights but not stipe, but hes not a draw and will retire soon probably anyway, so Dana dosent have a problem with shelfing him in favour of a young talent in Gane. It sucks for him but Stipes already had his time in the sun atleast.

White is still bitter because Miocic took the belt from him and handed it to his trainer to put it around miocic's waist

dana need to be fired replaced there so many fighter nice fighter that hate him he no even fan of mma he a boxing guy

They call him the greatest HW on one hand and give him no opportunities to show if he is on the other. The treatment is low class.

A common thing with the UFC is drawing power over disagreements. If you can draw, you can argue with them.

The problem is Stipe needs a translator to explain his frustrations because his language is very hard to understand

He got an immediate rematch vs DC, then got all the time he needed for recovery and surgery without an interim title made.
If you compare his case to Ngannou, he has been fairly well treated.

Black Beast was in between. The Ngannou stuff is worse, neither is a good relationship.

It comes to a point where rematches and especially instant ones are a tough sell. They will happen if it’s what the fans want. The HW division has been cursed with champs facing the exact same opponents over and over and it is time to break that curse. Everyone expected Miocic to lose to Ngannou and so he did. Miocic seems like a genuine guy and is a great fighter, but no one except his fans expect him to beat Ngannou if they rematch. It’s also not the fight fans want - we’ve seen it twice already, and now we have Gane who is undefeated who is likely the best HW who has earned his shot.
