Stipe holds the record for most wins in heavyweight title fights along with the longest title defending streak in the heavyweight division. Arguably one of the greatest Heavyweights in UFC History.

Yet what I don’t understand is this, how can he hold those accolades and yet not be given an immediate rematch for his title after a loss? Case in point..

He loses by KO to Cormier, rather than give Stipe the immediate rematch he deserves off the back of his impressive Heavyweight run, DC is allowed to defend against Derrick Lewis before running it back with Stipe.

He then gets his rematch with Cormier and wins via TKO…. Cormier (company man/shill) is then given immediate rematch with Stipe ??

Stipe eventually lose title in his rematch with Ngannou (going 1-1) and seems to be out in the wilderness with barely a mention at fighting to get his belt back again. Instead we’ve got Gane and Ngannou.

Have I missed something? Do the UFC or Dana have something against Stipe? You’d think a heavyweight with the accolades stipe has in the UFC would get treated slightly better and more respectfully.

Stipe got outclassed and bullied by Ngannou. He needs to go back to the drawing board and put on weight, because 220 lb Stipe has no shot of beating Big Frank. That means he shouldn't be next in contention.

He cried and sit out and got an instant rematch again Cormier after going KO'ed. DC just happened to squeeze in a fight with Lewis because UFC needed a title fight. Stipe still got a rematch without fighting anyone else.

Cormier got the rematch against Stipe because it was going to be his retirement match.

It looks like Stipe is doing the same thing again and is refusing to fight anyone but the champ. How this guy has any fans is beyond me.

Agree his decision to fight at a lighter weight backfired. If he puts some mass back on again, he ragdolled Ngannou in the first fight and he definitely can do it again.

You don't get an illimted stock of immediate rematches. He only had one title defense in his current reign, and he got beaten very badly.
And now the fact there is an interim champ makes it impossible.

I don't see him beating Ngannou, he'd most likely get brutally finished if they faced again. He'd better try his chance with Gane or Jones.

The moment his fate was sealed. I hope it felt good, I know the consequences don’t.

Let's not complain when someone doesn't get an immediate rematch. Immediate rematches are stupid and should only happen in the case of an obviously unintentional foul that ends the fight, or a freak injury.

The weight is a minor issue. Stipe isn't that big, he just came a bit leaner.
If anyone think he is going to put on 20lbs of muscle at 39y old, all naturally...well, think again.

Cormier was going to get a surgery and ultimately wait for stipe but then the UFC offered black beast so DC took it as he knew he would win.

Exactly, and the second fight was highly competitive until Stipe turned it up in the 4th round. Meanwhile, DC won the first fight via 1st round KO. It matters how you win. Besides, he fought DC back to back to back anyways.

After Stipe dominated their first fight, Ngannou had to fight five times before getting another title shot. Ngannou dominated the rematch and Gane is an undefeated contender who’s been highly active. Stipe needs another fight before challenging for the title again. I don’t see the problem there.

Because you're blending 2 lanes. What someone deserves vs what you think they deserve based off their accolades. I couldn't give 2 craps about someone's accolades prior to a fight. If you get knocked out, don't come back talking about an immediate rematch unless it was written in your contract prior to the fight.

He had already been given rematches in the past due to his record. Can't keep getting freebies.

Stipe and Dana don't like each other. Dana isn't going out of his way to do Stipe any favors.

UFC has a new potential star in Gane to promote. They don't want to hold up the division again.

UFC has (rightfully) been getting criticism from media and fans for lining up too many instant rematches over the years.

There was nothing controversial about the N'gannou loss to justify an instant rematch. Stipe lost fair and square.

For several reasons, an instant rematch just makes zero sense. Stipe has to earn his way back to the top like everyone else.

White is still bitter because Miocic took the belt from him and handed it to his trainer to put it around miocic's waist

I agree with everything you said.

Stipe is a class act and totally underappreciated/undervalued by the UFC.

He put on an absolute clinic against Ngannou the first fight.

Yes, Ngannou improved his skills, countered Stipe, and got a knockout. Credit to Francis.

But was a flash knockout, and if any heavyweight champion in UFC history deserved an immediate rematch, for sure it was Stipe Miocic.

He got an immediste rematch then gets kod by the next challenger and you expect him to get it again? His last 2 loses are brutual kos.
