Jones beat a peaking DC.
Stipe beat a declining DC.
How is Khabib relevant in this thread?Khabibs top tier victories were JG, Doostin & Conor
Yeah but for Jon's legacy this fight makes sense, beating the guy who is apparently the UFC's best ever HW does nothing but build Jon's legend in the sport.
Gimme a break.Yeah but for Jon's legacy this fight makes sense, beating the guy who is apparently the UFC's best ever HW does nothing but build Jon's legend in the sport.
Multiple fighters literally 20 pounds smaller than him, gifted decisions, fighters extremely past their primeI fuckin hate Jones but there is zero wrong with his resume
That sounds like the weeping of women. Other than Reyes 123 thats legit.Multiple fighters literally 20 pounds smaller than him, gifted decisions, fighters extremely past their prime
It’s all completely trueThat sounds like the weeping of women. Other than Reyes 123 thats legit.
There is a very high chance of stoppage in the HW division for power and cardio reasons. Therefore, it is more difficult to stay at the top.Fedor is the goat HW.
But if you're just talking about UFC, then yeah it's Stipe. I've never been a big fan of his, but you have to hand it to him for beating DC twice, Werdum, Ngannou, Alistair, and JDS. That's a hell of a run.
BUT... I will say that the HW division in the ufc is still weak and always has been. So being the goat UFC HW isn't really saying much. We've never had anyone dominate the division like Aldo, GSP, or Anderson did to theirs.

Declining based on what? Some random on a forum making the claim? If he would have won both Stipe fights and retired you wouldn't even be saying that.
Yup. Which makes Fedor's run all the more impressive. There is a very high chance of stoppage in the HW division for power and cardio reasons. Therefore, it is more difficult to stay at the top.
“weak” compared to what? the ufc’s hw division is still the best hw division in the world, and it certainly was when stipe came up. in fact, it was stacked because all the top hws from strikeforce were active. everyone stipe beat during his title reign would have been champ in any other org. almost all of them were champions in the ufc, or at least strikeforce.Fedor is the goat HW.

DC was a formidable opponent to the very endNah. Stipe career is very good. And being the best HW in the UFC was just him taking out the ppl in front of him. It's not his fault Overeem, JDS, and DC got old.
