Cain, Fedor, Nog, Barnett, Mir, Brock, Crocop, etc have all beaten a killer in their prime.Do people ever call him an all-time GOAT, though? I've only ever heard him referred to as the UFC HW GOAT, which he absolutely is.
Also, this is about as transparent as you can possibly be in your ridiculous criticism. If he fights someone young, they're green. If he fights a veteran, they're out of their prime. Sorry he never fought someone exactly 29 years and 271 days old, or whatever unrealistic number you have in your head for "prime" (if you've even got one).
Agreed. It's an idea in someone's head based on their own criteria and standards. Personally, I don't even care about one single athlete or team being the greatest. I do see some amongst the greats. It's not feasible to compare the incomparable like different eras, fighting styles, win-loss records, domination (e.g, Khabib has most 10-8s in UFC history), is least or most fight time more impressive, ad nauseum. There is no goat, no one has any claim for something that doesn’t exist
the reason he is talked about as the greatest UFc heavyweight is simply this : he apparently has a longer win-streak of heavyweight title-defenses than any other UFc HW champ. So that is why Dana and Co talk about Stipe being the greatest heavyweight champ ever.Anderson
DC
Jones
Gsp
Aldo
Khabib
Holloway
Penn
All have claims to be goat they were long reigning dominant champs. Stipe was not a long reigning champ and his record is full of green fighters or out of prime fighters like Werdum. He got beat by JDS and knocked out by DC moving up to HW.
Stipe is not at the same level as those fighters above.
How bout the time heart mur mur Struve Ko'd him? How bout when short fatass DC clipped him? How about those times?I’d put him over khabib anyime
The word Goat gets thrown around too easily.....Anderson
DC
Jones
Gsp
Aldo
Khabib
Holloway

Stipe is not at the same level as those fighters above. I would put nganu above stipe and Cain above him too
Putting Khabib Holloway and BJ with the others on that list...I couldn't agree less, I think Fedor is inargubly a GOAT contender. HW is the hardest division to not lose in historically. Most of the HW greats have multiple KO losses. It's just how it goes but the fact that for about a decade fedor didn't lose ina weight class where one punch ends it all says ALOT about how amazing of a fighter he was.Anyone putting a heavyweight as goat is retarded
Some might say the same for putting a light heavyweight….
yes, acconting those times too, stipe is still a way more accomplished fighter. How bout the time heart mur mur Struve Ko'd him? How bout when short fatass DC clipped him? How about those times?
If you put fedors skills in gsps body would gsp have beaten the people he beat?I couldn't agree less, I think Fedor is inargubly a GOAT contender. Fedor

These are the only people I consider goat candidates. Any answers outside of these 5 is not respectable in my opinion.
