Funny how the corporate Boogyman crowd is cheering this on. I’m confused on the message. Are huge corporations bad and need regulation, or good as long as I agree with their policy?

The internet, youtube and facebook etc are only so big because of the lack or oversight.

They are a corporation. They want only what provides them the most revenue. "Traditional Media" has clout in market penetration and CCR% over the average quality YouTuber.

It is everything the Right talks about. The Freemarket correcting itself. The provider uses the research and the money given to them to promote specific things. And if the market dictates that YouTube's decision cost it money, the market will bring that to bear.

If you dont know the story, some whiny liberal bitch cried to YouTube about crowder. Crowder wasn’t banned, but YouTube is now cracking down on many independent journalists and content makers.

YouTube says they will promote large media companies more and scale back promoting independent content makers.

The media is pissed that guys like Tim pool get WAY more viewship numbers per week than major cnn anchors on cable tv.

Crowder's a millionaire who long ago found a way to monetize his channel outside of YouTube ads and he was largely demonetized already anyway. The bigger concern is how this will affect other YouTube creators not in the same position. As far as Maza goes, he's an authoritarian Marxist and not a liberal at all. Tim Pool is a liberal. I suppose the victory we can take away from this is that at least they didn't outright ban Crowder and similar creators despite the immense pressure. I also think the vast majority of people on the left don't support this crap, but you've got the cultural leftist elites in the media making it seem that way sadly.

Because most of them can still monetize to a large extent. They have revenue streams outside of YouTube too. And then YouTube now has memberships and live streams with super chats, similar to subscriptions and donations on Twitch. They have much bigger built up audiences on YouTube already, it makes sense for them to stay there as long as they can. Now as far as gamers go, it makes sense for them to stream on Twitch and then upload on YouTube. But for political commentators, it's not as natural a transition. That said, Hasan Piker is testing the waters a bit, maybe more will follow suit...
 
How short sighted can people be if you're chalking this up as a win for team blue. This is going to hurt everyone, especially small creators. Ironically Crowder will be completely fine and will probably be gaining an even bigger following.

How do you harass a grown man who's a public figure via a YouTube video? It's not cool that Maza was harassed and doxxed by other people but there's no indications that Crowder directed or even encouraged any of that. Maza is a big boy who supports political violence and authoritarianism, yet he wants to cry like a little bitch when he gets a taste of his own medicine. Fuck him. I don't even like Crowder or agree with his politics. He should have destroyed Maza's stupid authoritarian positions without even mentioning that he's a queer, but he should still be allowed to do so and people should be allowed to listen to it. Open platforms benefit us all. What you spit in the wind might come back in your face...

Repeatedly mocking a man on racial and sexual grounds is harassment. What is missing here? Crowder has also been told all he has to do is stop linking to a "socialism is for :eek::eek::eek:s" t shirt and he can be re monetized. Boo fucking hoo. Youtube is being completely reasonable in this instance.
