From what we've seen from Bonnar over the past few years, I don't know why anybody is feigning shock right now.

I've wondered if there was some kind of falling out. He was a legend, good looking, well spoken, funny, good at WEC commentary, supposedly had Dana's loyalty like all of the TUF 1 guys, etc. Seemed ideal for commentary or at least one of the pre/post show desk jobs.
He was well spoken and entertaining, thought he'd be a natural in some commentary gig.Yes I agree, I thought Bonnar was lined up to be the face of the UFC in retirement in front of the camera, have a Podcast like Steve Austin, host an MMA show, travel the world calling fights, that's where I thought his retirement was going.
Shit they gave Forrest a job with the UFC after he retired, but not Bonnar,....
There was a scary video of him being asked to leave a hospital about a year ago. He wanted painkillers or something. He looked awful.
Sadly the only thing that is surprising me is the fact so many seem surprised by this news.
