STARFIELD discussion

@GtehMVP did you do that mission for Walter where he asked you to design a ship? I did and went with the big budget, throw everything together option and ended up with this monstrocity - the Kepler R

I went back to my Razorleaf, the Kepler is too damn big, will probably have to customise it properly and remove unnecessary weight.

lol, in my last session I had just gone through it. I was trying to take a snap shot of the girl in charge, as I've never seen anyone in tights like that before, might be the only form fitting clothing for women, outside Sarah's pants and those goofy things at the Astral lounge.

Anyway, my gun went off, bad things happened, but thankfully I'm also a Free Star Ranger, so I was able to gather evidence...

I wish the photo mode would let you take shots in ultra wides. Regardless, this game is stunning at times. I started an outpost outside Atlantis, beautiful view.

@Slobodan I finally finished that mission properly and got the Kepler S.

Looks so tiny here

It's not just a big ship, I hate how we need so many ladders to get to the cockpit. We need some stairs or an elevator. Free is always nice though!

I've been planning a new ship build and was going to use it for parts, but I decided to hang on to it. I have feeling we'll be able to have fleets in future updates, or have them in some sort of use for companions.

I think I'll use it for my new ship, taking the reactor

Wait you can use parts from one ship to another?

Sadly no, I just meant that I was going to build on the Kepler, using its reactor and various parts as a base.

They really need to let us bank parts.

I'm completing this crimson fleet quest/mission/whatever and if it doesn't finally get me hooked in I'm throwing in the towel. Just incredibly boring
Yeah I haven’t played in a few weeks. Didn’t grab me like the fallout games. Even 4 was better than this.

mark my words

Starfield is a game that will get better and get more recognition over time

Agreed. This game is already really special, as there's really nothing like it. You can tell they made the game to be heavily expanded upon.

For me, I want more things to do in my ship, namely exploration. You can already literally fly to planets in each system in real time, it would just take hours. All that space and they did little with it. Outside combat, some random/predetermined encounters with other ships, and docking with stations in a small area, ships just serve as fast travel devices.

Everspace 2 gives you so much do in space, BGS only needs to adopt a fraction of it.

I don't think Everspace 2 is better than SF at all, but this review highlights a lot of of the fun things you can do out there.

Enhancements to outpost building are also a must, but I'm sure that's coming, along with big story DLC's, especially covering the Va'ruun.

We really need to pilot those mechs too.

Mods will eventually be epic too, but there's so much BGS can add themselves.

I've encountered two pretty bad bugs now. Maybe someone has posted them... But

When you go to turn in the second to last mission for the Ryujin quest line.. the character you need to speak to is not in the building he's supposed to be in. Instead you get a marker that tells you to go into the middle of the planet... But you never actually find him.

A lot of people complaining about it and it's looking like I'm going to have to wait for a patch to fix it.

Second is, and beware, if you have a house on new atlantis decorated and are storing anything in crates in the houses, they will wiped out once you finish the high price to pay quest. I had to reload a save and take everything I wanted to keep out of the penthouse and replay it.

Another common issue people are bitching about

Divorced Sarah, married Andreja.

After the wedding:

Do you have the anti gravity power?

I've had a couple of missions now where the NPC I needed to talk with was in a wall. I've had at least 3 encounters in space, when boarding an enemy ship, where the NPC's must have been floating outside the ship, or stuck in structural pieces.

Each time I used the anti gravity power, it snapped them back in after the effect wore off.

It made a companion hate it though, as I had to use it on the trader in the community center section of Cydonia.

Hopefully that house decorating bug only apllies to that instance. I have an armory ready to decorate on my ship, and want spice rooms up, but I'm not touching it until Bethesda fixes how everything goes into storage. when you make a slight change, even colour.

Here are my thoughts after my 125+ hour first playthrough. ***SPOILER AHEAD***

Beowulf was the best gun for me, as I spec myself into sneaky sniper, it shoots fast enough and have enough ammo in clip even if a few enemy get close I can still shoot them down before I reload.
House of Varuun seem like a big deal of nothing. I was thinking there could be a big questline about it but all we got was a companion quest from Andreja that felt unfulfilled and the embassy quest that didn't give us any answers.
Vladmir feels more like the leader of Constellation than Sarah for me. I guess it's the way he speaks, being the only person that go to the eye, and giving quests to the player.
I really enjoyed the Crisom Fleet/Sys Def faction questline, I think Eclipse could have used one too as we delve deeper into how mercenaries work in the starfield universe.
I did notice once I finished all the quests, the "pure exploration" part of the game get old really fast as the facilities get repetitive quite fast and the wilderness isn't all that interesting. I was motivated to explore mainly hoping to bump into more interesting quests like the Starseed questline.
The main source of income for me was selling loot as I couldn't be bothered with the outpost system, but I find it harder and harder to sell loot near end game as most shop keepers never increase their credit amount and I'd sometimes exhaust all shop on new Atlantis and have to go to another system or wait.

I had a beowulf that had the furious attribute...which is like the best attribute to have in fallout .. so I used it for a while.

I didn't but I modded mine and with the sniper character I built, I was easily one-shotting everyone except the elites.

After getting through all of the faction questlines... Well except the one with the bugged mission I can't finish.... And the main story, I'm leaving the rest of the side quests to keep me busy. I'm hoping to pick up more too. I've done a few of the quests you get from the mission board machine thing too.

I'm also a cheevo whore so I'm also playing to try to get 100 percent. So that's motivation. It's a long way to level 100! Although dlcs will help too
