STARFIELD discussion

You have to buy the game to review Starfield on Steam

You also mentioned Metacritic, which is notorious for review bombing.

Steam isnt avert to being bombed either. People can have .01 hrs played and still leave a review. One of my favorite examples of how ridiculous gamers can be was the Skyrim review that just bashed the game and how terrible it was yet had 1200 hours played.

Not gunna lie I’m somewhat let down by this game. It’s a 7/10 at best.

Is this really something people of a certain belief system are losing their minds over?

Lmao, did he really fire up Starfield after that, or did someone put that in there?

I think with flying if you could traverse In a solar system faster that would be fun (flying from earth to mars to Jupiter, etc) . Flying from one solar system to another probably needs a load screen (going though the journal to travel has made it a lot better

I was reading about someone who flew from one planet to another in a solar system. It took them hours but they were able to do so (I believe earth to Pluto).

Every planet/moon is just some skybox/image of course, so you fly right through them.

I'm sure some mod can make this work, where you can leave the cockpit and hang around your ship as you travel to different locations.

I wouldn't want to fly that long, but once in a while it would be cool to do so, so long as there were some mini games aboard, or a reason for doing so.

If they shortened the time, a reason could be to stealthily approach a planet to avoid getting scanned for contraband or something.

I can't wait to see what modders do with this game.

funny thing with this game is you can fire a mountains of ammo into the air in the middle of a crowded city, no one reacts, but steal a solo cup 3 systems away and the police will fine you and take away the contraband.
Lol, it really bothers me that no one gets annoyed when I have my gun pointed in their face. In every Bethesda game that I can recall NPC's, especially security, would warn you to put your weapon away when up close to someone in city/settlement.

Been focusing mostly on running quests and none of them relied on ship combat so haven't really put any energy into that, but the last few missions needed a bunch of ship combat and was getting wrecked. Thankfully I had a decent stash of credits I could upgrade a bunch of systems. Made a huge difference having better weapons, but really need to get a new ship since the overall energy output is pretty low on the starter ship.

Found a cool question that rewards a pretty awesome Class A ship, so definitely going to take a minute to finish that up. Not just for better combat but having more cargo space will be a god send.

Fighting pirates and spacers will get you some decent ammo imo

I've been getting into crafting last two days. I want to get that laser ammo that burns enemies
Where do you stash your resources?

I've maxed body building to carry more weight, but my resources are building up. My ship cargo is full, all resources.

Can we make a stash/storage bin on a settlement, or expand cargo holds on ship? It seems tied to my personal max carry weight.

came across my fav mission so far on the main questline

Quest is called Entangled if you ever get to it.

There is a safe in your room at the Lodge that has unlimited storage capacity. It should be the only room that has a bed that isn't "Owned".

It's handy, but kind of a pain to use because you have to physically run to the safe to move around resources.

You can expand cargo on the ship. Have one sitting at 870. Just stole one that's able to hold 1200. You should also have a personal Captains locker in the cockpit also

There is a bag in the room next to the research lab in the Lodge where I've been stashing my resources while I've been crafting and researching

For the ship, I did that Mantis quest so now I have a much better ship

Fucking virgin lol

In my line of work, I deal with a lot of different people, from several different companies. Some of them have elected to put their preferred pronouns in their e-mail signatures and/or their LinkedIn profiles. Some people from within those said companies have not elected to specify which pronouns they prefer.

Do you know what happens when my colleagues and I see these things?

Fucking. nothing.

It hurts literally no one. If you have the time to get upset about that, you need to get a life.

18 hours in so far and barely touched the main quest. Just had my first 0 gravity gun fight, so awesome shotgunning people and watching their bodies float away. This game is massive. I’m level 10 and haven’t even gotten to the second tier of perk unlocks.

How did you like it?
It was good! I did play an unarmed run so I didn’t experience gunplay. I would recommend doing the main quest first

everything in the universe resets except your character so you keep the levels and perks. You lose your items but gain others and you start at the beginning landing on new Atlantis and starting over

hopefully I find some fun quest to do. Going to mess around with building a ship later and maybe try an outpost

well, i encountered my first bug. i went back to finish a quest on mars that trevor dude started floating away. he was on the very bottom near the mine but by the time i went back up the stairs and took the screenshot he almost made it to the roof lol

i was able to load an earlier save and it seemed to resolve the issue and i was able to finish the quest. but lol this is definately a bethesda game.

hopefully there will be some kind of starfield wikia or whatever with a code above every NPC, that way if they disappear or float off into space i can use a console command to teleport to wherever it is they are, or teleport them to my crosshairs.

i had to do the console command shit in fallout and skyrim when my followers kept bugging out and getting stuck forever in weird places. now it looks like i might have to do that again for starfield if this keeps up.

personally i think its hilarious that npc's bug out and decide to randomly float away. but at the same time it could be quest breaking. maybe even game breaking if one of the main NPC's decides to float away into the unknown and fucks up a main story quest.

i just actually googled starfield trevor floating and it turns out that a bunch of others are reporting that same shit with him, and many other NPC's. the common solution on reddit for floating NPC's is to cap your framerate to 60fps.

not this shit again. jesus christ, its 2023 man. oh wait, this is a bethesda game lol. for some reason their physics start to go all wonky if you start pushing well above 60fps on their game engine. apparently running it uncapped, companions start to act weird during combat and wont follow you properly, and enemies just randomly get stuck during combat and stuff, npc's start going all wonky and floating away. at least thats what people are reporting anyways.

i cant believe they havent fixed this shit yet. its not like they dont fucking know by now that the problem exists. pretty soon im gonna start so see goblets and plates and other random items swirling around in orbit, that got launched far off into outer space from when i ran past them in Skyrim with an uncapped framerate. for the longest time in that game i thought that shit was just normal, and i was haunted by a poltergeist everywhere i go because random objects would just start flying around the room all of the time.

Man, is everyone at constellation an extreme goody two shoes? Well Walter is the exception is looks like, but the party members I've had with me give no quarter.

Thanks guys

I finally starting messing around with ship upgrades and building, as I ran into some tough enemies my basic ship couldn't handle. I wound up just upgrading weapons and the reactor, then I got two good ships a few hours later.

You get one for the Mantis questline @Slobodan mentions (I didn't realize I had the Outpost message in my inventory) and one for finishing the Free Star Alliance faction questline (both are OP this early). You also get some cool space suits and clothing. I'm now an official ranger lol

The Free Star ship, after messing the colours, reminds me of the Thunderbirds

Almost everyone is looking at Walter here, but I was distracted...

btw, Cowboy guy's voice actor is none other than badass Adam Jensen. I hope new Deus Ex with him is in the mix!

Sadly, it is very unlikely we are getting another one anytime soon. Square Enix sold the IP and I think that new company is having their own financial difficulties so it may be sold again at some point in time and since games take at least 5 years to develop now I think it's safe to say we are very far away from a new installment. I loved Human Revolution, not so much Mankind Divided.

Loved the opening to the game.
