Rey beats him, and Yoda gives retarded backwards advice. Hollywood wants old school strong white male leads, and old school common sense---- to die; we see who they replace the white males with, and common sense wisdom is to be replaced with down being up and up being down, and we know that and it's wtevr.. But when you hear Yoda give some backwards comically bad advice, and actually bring the old white male characters back to bury themselves? That crosses the line.
That's unqualified bullshit, my friend. Even presupposing the asinine notion "Hollywood" prosetylizes, it's not like you have to entertain such ulterior motives. The very fact that you do and criticize underlying social commentary that is not there makes me lol for you, that you couldn't just watch a film about space samurai. Get that nonsense out of your head.

Yoda always talks backwards!

Rey does not beat Luke, he was toying with her and easily blocking everything. She went for the saber and he put some distance between them catching himself with the force.

He could have easily beaten her had he wanted too as they showed us with him not taking her seriously

Whiny, sorry-for-himself Luke is not new. It's not out of line nor a regression. But in JEDI he's beguiled himself into thinking it's noble that he refrains. Rey doesn't beat him, but she makes him confront this about himself. And Yoda kicks him in the butt as the kicker.

Briefly whiny is a bit different than suicidal.

I was rebutting your comment on obi wans death scene.

I have dislikes about Luke’s death but I know it served a purpose.

It had some kind of purpose but he only died because the writer/director wanted him to. I doubt there is anything written anywhere that a force projection requires death.

I meant content, not syntax. Nice play though.

I agree with that. Rian threw in the comment from Kylo to Rey saying she can’t be contacting him from where shewas by herself because the strain would kill her.

I bet they threw that in after people questioned why Luke dies from the projection during writing.

Finally checked this out last night.

Well, it looked good at least. The action was well handled also. Decent performances by the cast...

Okay, that's the pros outta the way. My God, I've never seen a movie work so hard to kill any and all momentum going into the final act of a trilogy. All this flick did was take away. Did anyone read the goddamn script before they started shooting? I don't know how any producer read that script, and reacted with anything other than absolute horror at how it was killing off every bit of intrigue this franchise had after TFA. The script just goes in one big circle that leads back to the starting point, while killing all the interesting plot threads that was set up in TFA, while adding nothing to it at all. I'd say it took one step forward and two steps back...if it actually took a step forward.

I won't even bother going into the terrible attempts at humor, the boneheaded decisions made by some characters, and the absolute waste of time that is everything to do with Leia(which takes up like half the fucking movie). The bottom line is that it's one of the biggest failures of what a middle chapter in a planned trilogy is supposed to do. It's supposed to build upon the conflict and plot threads to be concluded in the final act, not eliminate them, and leave the next film with nothing to do.

Yeesh, what a pointless mess that was. It was at least watchable though. I'll give it that. It looked good, and it never felt it's length. So while it's not "prequel" bad and numbing, it's still pretty damn bad nonetheless.

5/10

Gave it another shot and watched it on Netflix. Hated it even more than before. Glad I skipped the Solo movie because I can't support the irreparable damage they've done to this franchise.

You are a brave man for watching this pile of shit a second time.

Great points. I don't know why anyone would be excited to watch Rey against Kylo again. She already kicked his ass in the very first movie and continues to have everything handed to her on a silver platter.

Yeah, you were again crossing arguments trying to sound clever. I can't blame you.

That poster was making the argument that Luke did kill himself because he "wanted to die". What do you mean by "crossing arguments"?

Proposed STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Remake Gets a Fan-Made Poster

The new movies should’ve been about the growing mandalorian threat in the galaxy combined with two of Luke’s students going off on a journey (like native Americans) to a planet strong in the dark side where an ancient Sith ghost tempts them to the darkness. They would also play a part in the growing mandalorian threat and it would be them vs the new Jedi academy with the mandalorian warrior race against the new republic.

That’s a story.

I like The Last Jedi just the way it is.

Can't wait for Ep 9.

last_jedi_remake.jpg

It had its moments but the asian girl was not needed, remove her scenes and the movie wouldve been the same.

The iconic light saber was made a joke when luke threw it away and the way it was executed.

Snoke had all this build up, to be killed off, he had potential as a major villain.

Han solos son big nose just comes of as an emotional emo brat (personally they shudda kept his masks on)

So Rey, isnt a skywalker? Shes from regular parents that ditched her. Lazy writing.

Mark Hamill himself said the movie sucked, thats enough to convince me that I agree.

But glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully ep9 is waaaaaaaayyyy better
