No it is not. Kylo was portrayed as being really strong in the beginning of the movie.
And Rey was made out to be Mary Sue, God in the shape of a women. The girl that is going to save all society.

The agenda is obvious and JJ Abrams is stupid. We are talking about the guy behind the WORST MACGUFFIN OF ALL TIME IN MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3.
And you are trying out to hard to explain.

There is a rule of tumb to any movie. If you try too hard to explain an obvious popcorn flick, the flick has failed in having a silly plot.

And this popcorn flick has a negative graded plot. It is stupid and derivative. Even transformers has a smarter plot than this shit.
my wife, who had not seen a single star wars movie perfectly understood this movie. the plot is simple and straightforward. it's a tribute to ANH. it follows a similar pattern the originals and the prequels follows. are you sure you are a star wars fan?

You mean the original trilogy?
Those amazing sci fi movies that came out in the 70's?

Yes absolutely sure.

If you mean the puke that came out in the 90's or the diarrhea that came out this year;- no i am not a fan.

I could nick-pick the hell out of the original three all day long in same manner you are doing to this one. they aren't perfect. there are mistakes. there are continuity errors. but you know what? normal people can dismiss them and just enjoy the damn story.

You guys know what else the genius behind this flick is responsible for?

The NOBEL PRIZE AND PULLITZER PRIZE WINNER PLOT OF ARMAGGEDON.

This mastermind, this einstein, thought it was really clever idea putting a bunch of drillers in a steroid.
While aerosmith played in the background.

Brilliant.

so we are only supposed to like and enjoy realistic movies now? GTFO.

But at least they were original and didnt had an agenda.

Dont get me wrong, i dont put them in a pedestal. They are a popcorn flick.
But a damn good popcorn flick.

This?

Worst than transformers, and due to the fact that it is making success i feel compelled to rant the fuck out of it.
I am sick and tired of transformers and agenda driven movies

Amazing! This is EXACTLY the kind of clarity I was looking for. and a conversation I had hoped to have. Can't believe you have such a great source here too. Awesome, thanks for this.

In the interest of full disclosure, I don't have the Visual Dictionary on hand. But a ton of pages have been scaned and posted online.

So, okay, the "First Order" retreated into a defensible series of systems and signed a peace treaty with the New Republic - but a resistance formed within their territory. Makes sense. They are in a kind of Cold War then.

Down to the fact that they're getting weapons and money from sympathetic senators in the New Republic.

Although the fact that they march around the galaxy, presumably in Republic territory, killing people makes me think they have some serious power, otherwise they wouldn't be so blatant at risking war against the Republic - it's also strange the Republic didn't have a harsher response to their designing a super-weapon like Starkiller base, but it's possible The First Order kept it all a secret.

Jakku has been establish as being of little strategic importance in the novels, and located in the ass end of nowhere. It's probably unclaimed by everyone, or even in First Order territory. Otherwise, Leia probably would've gone to pick up the information herself. Sending a single top agent speaks of a spot where the Resistance can't operate openly.

Even so, a full on war is now going on, but I guess the Starkiller base blew up the Republic fleet when they destroyed Hosian Prime?

The Republic Fleet was destroyed at Hosnian Prime, but if we extrapolate from Mon Mothma's plan in Aftermath, the planetary security forces of the individual member worlds of the New Republic ought to have a significant punch if they combine and coordinate their forces.

Where the hell i said anything like this?

You can like whatever you want to. Even dog poo icecream. But that doesnt make it decent.
Armaggedon is really stupid, transformers is really stupid, MI3 is really stupid and guess what force awakens is.

so you're expecting every movie you watch to be the best thing you ever seen? Armegedon is an action flick. you don't have to think about it. Same for Transformers. This movie, while action packed, had subtle elements to it that I feel made it more than just your typical action flick. you had nods to the past movies while still keeping it fresh. you had new and interesting characters with complex motives of their own. great visuals and action sequences. I thought it was a great movie.

i'm just gonna go out on a limb and say Best Movie Ever. say it in 3d blasted out of my gourd and my mind was blown.

How is Finn not inspiring??

Helped Poe escape and put his own neck on the line.

Couldn't kill innocent beings at the beginning of the movie. Knows his place in life is evil and wrong. So he corrects it.

Helps Rey and vice versa.

Knows he's outmatched at the end but still confronts Ren to save Rey.

If you didn't catch all that you simply don't like the character because you feel he was shoe horned in because he's black.

And for the record Pre Vizla in the clone wars cartoon goes toe to toe in a light saber battle. He was just human as well. Also that's canon.
No. And shame on you for playing the race card. Which makes you . .racist.

and for the record, these movies are far and away better than Armegedon and Transformers. it's not even close.

at this point, his comments are becoming so outlandish, it's better to just ignore them.

You know what movies are also action flicks:

Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Sanjuro
Once upon a time in the west
For a few dollars more
The good the bad and the ugly
Die hard
The wild bunch
High noon
The man who shot liberty valence
Gladiator
Black Rain
Le samourai
Rififi
Scarface
Aliens
Dirty Harry
Ronin
indiana Jones
Dirty Dozen
Papillon

Out of my head i think i could come up with 200.Maybe 500 hundred.

And not a single one of them made me angry. Made me cringe.

This is crap, but i should know better. If i had known that Jar jar abrams was responsible for Armaggedon and Mission Impossible 3, i probably wouldnt have lost my time.

Cosigned (I'm tired of the like button already).

Can we just sit back and enjoy the new character development and beautiful cinematography and FX (costumes and models and art, OH MY!)? Maybe some of these so called inconsistencies will seem like less of a problem when we know more. Not that anything anyone has brought up so far is really much of a problem to being with.
Unless somebody has mentioned Carrie Fisher's acting. She needs to get back on the vodka tonics or something.

You mean mission impossible 3 and this pile of crap?
Really, you are defending MI3 too?

I don't believe I mentioned IM:3

I personally haven't seen it so I can't judge it.
