Has a white male staring role ever had an agenda?

The answer is NO.

But if it's a woman or a minority it's always an agenda. These people literally can't win.

You're making this discussion about race, when it previously was about characters and plot. Quite frankly, I don't think it has any place here.

And quite frankly you have no clue to what you're talking about.

Unless you never saw the movie. Because if you actually saw it you would know you're wrong and the movie clearly depicts you're wrong.

to his defense, there WAS discussion about multiple apparent agendas, including race and sex.

The complaints I personally saw had nothing to do with race. I saw previous complaints that the movie was too "PC", but I don't see how that factors into this discussion and I think it was really classless of him to write off anyone critical of Finn as a racist.

they are there - while it is disguised by being called 'too PC', the intent is clearly concerning Finns race - in fact this has been prevalent since day 1 of the first trailer where a black man took off a storm troopers mask.

now that the movie is out and the main protagonist is female, this too has been lumped in with the argument about there being an agenda.

The orange lady, can't remember her name at the moment, said that they found it. But the story of how they did was "for another time."
I guess some plumber found it on Bespin or something. I guess we just have to assume it found its way into Maz's hands eventually and she knew what it was.
They found it? Lol

Thanks. I don't remember her saying they found it, just that it was Anakin/Luke's and then later I realized that Luke's from Jedi was green and the original blue one was lost at Bespin. I guess I'll have to accept it as a hand-wavy convenient part of the plot.

Lol, Battlefield Earth... now THAT'S a movie that could use a remake, unlike all the classics they are systematically killing. I loved the novel when I was a young'n and the movie was soooo bad.

This I agree with. But saying that Finn sucked because of x,y,z is not nearly the same thing and Kong grouped the two together.

How is Finn not inspiring??

Helped Poe escape and put his own neck on the line.

Couldn't kill innocent beings at the beginning of the movie. Knows his place in life is evil and wrong. So he corrects it.

Helps Rey and vice versa.

Knows he's outmatched at the end but still confronts Ren to save Rey.

If you disagree with this, then I disagree with you. I think Finn was cool for much the same reasons. But it doesn't mean this

If you didn't catch all that you simply don't like the character because you feel he was shoe horned in because he's black.

I think that's bullshit.

Just came back from the theatres. Would give it between a 7 to 8 rating.

Certain things were done very well. Makes Georges prequels look like trash even more.

so how long have you been a scientologist?

Anyone on these boards could do a better job directing than George did on those fucking prequels...

Everybody keeps trashing the prequels. This movie was far better than Phantom, of course. A full step better than Clones, which gets too much hate for Sam Jackson looking down in a crappy way. And it was arguable a little better than Sith.. Without the nostalgia, I'm not sure it was THAT much better than Sith at all. Clones had Yoda's first battle, Boba Fett backstory, Clone army backstory, and of course wayyyy too much blue screen. Gets too much hate. Ewan McGregor was better than ANY character in TFA. ANY. P*** off with the worship of this thing. "It was a 7-8/10, but it was 5x better than Sith.." Sith was a 7, so stfu lol.

can't wait for the bads to "win" the next movie. then when all hope is lost during the final act of the third movie... the good guys win!!!
yawn. at least some people will get enjoyment out of this tho.

So you're not a fan of most movies?

That's pretty much a first, second, and third act.

nah don't watch much blockbusters anymore, not my type of thing. but these movies are more about the ride , not the conclusion. we all know good will prevail
