They totally made Chewbacca a bad ass in this movie. He actually had something to do in a movie for once, when Han got taken out he started capping fools by the handful.

Easily one of the best parts in the movie. When he shot Ren it was a big FUCK YEAH moment. Then he's just icing fools left and right.

What because it added depth that a average soldier in the bad guys military could be something more than that. He clearly was an exception just due to him not conforming even though he was been drilled it his whole life.

No because he's black. Didn't you get the memo. /s We've established in this franchise that force users are god tier. They cut down storm troopers/droids in droves. Hell in this very same movie Kylo could stop a beam of light in mid air and hold it there. But now he can't deal with 1 storm trooper swining a sword?? It makes no sense and you know it. And the only reason I keep coming back to it is because people keep defending it. Just say it's stupid and that'll be that.

Maybe he has a serious attunement with the force as well and that is why he is the way he is.

Maybe but that's just speculation based on nothing. They never established that.

I just find it odd people are soo butthurt by this and not the clear re-use of the Death Star super weapon.

I actually don't have a problem with that. It's cliche and boring but it's not breaking the rules of the universe they've already established like this is.

Quick question to discuss. And seriously, it should be discussed more because it has huge implications for the Star Wars universe but the movie kind of shimmied right over it.

When the first order fired the first attack with star killer base, they said it was to destroy the republic and the senate. So in other words; Did they just ****ing blow up Courscant??? The planet looked like it.

I wondered the same thing. No other mention was even made of it and it seemed like a big effing deal!

I loved the film, but did not like Rey's ability to go toe to toe with Ren in a light saber duel. That really made him look like a can. Injured or not, he should have made quick work of her. I would much prefer it if the fight ended with him coming out on top and the earthquake saving Rey.

Well I guess Rey is probably going to be hyped up to be making that Anakin Skywalker-type-money because clearly her force potential must be through the roof if she reversed Ren's own telepathic abilities on him and then picked up a lightsaber for the first time and was kicking ass.

Luke even with some Yoda training was getting tooled by Vader. Rey fresh off the bench was fighting like she'd been a Jedi for years. (granted I know she had fighting ability clearly to some degree but I'm pretty sure Ren was meant to be highly skilled- considering he was using the force as a weapon more effectively than most characters we've seen in the franchise so far- stopping laser blasts in mid air, completely immobilizing people, prying memories and thoughts from people's heads, etc.

Yeah I must have missed it since he had a grand total of 6 mins of screen time, none of which was over a minute long and 13 secs of which is his ship flying away. Maybe I missed the nuance in his 27 words total. All he did was track the falcon to cloud city. Maybe that makes him a badass in your retarded eyes. Looks like you need to research the movie genius.

Just came back from the 10PM show.

All in all it was a good film. It helps erase the memory of Episodes 1 - 3. A few questions and thoughts remains which should be answered through next few sequels (I hope). Like how did Kylo find Vaders mask? Did he travel all the way to Endor to retrieve it? And you didnt even need Luke in this story.

And c'mon Rey wasn't exactly fighting like Mace Windu. She was desperately stabbing at and retreating from an opponent who was weakening by the second. When Ren's confidence got shook and his force weakened and the wound caught up he got touched

Yes this IMO is a part of the movie I had a gripe with. Goes back to my central complaint that it wasn't long enough. Although with the flaws I did enjoy the hell out of it and especially the new cast.


The senate moved off coruscant onto Hosnian Prime. This is their new senate.

Who would know considering it wasn't even touched in the movie.

Apparently it was a planet called Hasnian Prime. I believe the name was said briefly at some point. The New Repuics capital moved every election, but that was cut out of the movie.
