I liked this movie a lot despite its flaws.. Like the entire ending being so damn rushed..

and don't get me started on Phasma..

I have a few points that could've made her character far greater than the movie showed us..

Why wasn't she on jakku looking for Finn and the droid? Why didn't Finn battle her instead of some no name stormtrooper with some type of energy baton? (replace that no name strom trooper with Phasma and the scene instantly has more weight and emotion behind it) This only would benefit the plot of the movie and Phasma and Finns interaction come later in the film.

Why wasn't she shown to be an equal in a tie fighter the way Poe was in his X-wing??? She shoudlve been made much more badass but now we have to wait until the next movie to see her badassness. She should've been a Red Baron type.. Which also wopuldve given the ending more emotion and meaning.


That's like being shown Boba Fett in New Hope and all he does is stand around, but he was heavily marketed. BUT you have to wait until Empire to see him in action. Makes little to no sense IMO.. another problem with being far to short and rushed..

This movie easily needed to be 3 hours Easily.

I just came back from my second viewing and made it a point to count this time. Dude shot down 10 TIE fighters in a single pass while sniping stormtroopers on the ground.

3rd act was fun, but basically a New Hope rehash and the weak point aside from the duels in the forest.

Completely agree, the saber fights had weight to them again. Can't believe people wanted a chick who just picked up a lightsaber and discovered the force to be flipping around all over the place.

Agreed. None were fully trained Jedi with multiple duel experience, not even Kylo. He was clearly better and knew what he was doing, but was still clearly a rookie on par with Luke in Empire Strikes Back. It actually felt like a fight and not a dance, and the wounds looked like they actually hurt.

The clear stars of the movie were Rey and Han Solo. In terms of likeability and screen presence everybody else ranged from good (Poe) to decent (Finn and Kylo) to somewhat disappointing (Luke).

What because it added depth that a average soldier in the bad guys military could be something more than that. He clearly was an exception just due to him not conforming even though he was been drilled it his whole life. Maybe he has a serious attunement with the force as well and that is why he is the way he is. Also, he held his ground but lost, and against a guy who had a blasted hole in the side of his abdomen. I just find it odd people are soo butthurt by this and not the clear re-use of the Death Star super weapon.

Pretty sure that's bullshit. Stop pulling the race card like a typical regressive. People are complaining they could hold their own because they're literally 100% untrained while Kylo is trained not only by Luke but by Snoke. With Rey you can at least say she is a force prodigy but Fin is just bad writing.

And btw the whole "Star Wars is racist against whites" thing was a troll. But like the outrage mongers they are regressive at it up with a spoon.

Quick question to discuss. And seriously, it should be discussed more because it has huge implications for the Star Wars universe but the movie kind of shimmied right over it.

When the first order fired the first attack with star killer base, they said it was to destroy the republic and the senate. So in other words; Did they just ****ing blow up Courscant??? The planet looked like it.

I loved the film, but did not like Rey's ability to go toe to toe with Ren in a light saber duel. That really made him look like a can. Injured or not, he should have made quick work of her. I would much prefer it if the fight ended with him coming out on top and the earthquake saving Rey.
