Star Wars Megathread

OBI Wan is an underrated badass.

Such an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan. And please...For the love of God, no more of these side characters and their side quest stories (Book of Boba Fett.) Star Wars, along with the Skywalker story has always been about the conflict between the Jedi and Sith, the war of attrition. This is why I loved the KOTR, it mainly focused on that aspect.

Not trying to be a Negative Nancy, but aren't you guys sick of watching the same sand shit landscapes over and over again? I mean, where else are you gonna set a post-ep III/pre-ep IV Obi-Wan show, but all of these Disney movies and shows - it's like the same sets being used over and over and over and over and over again.

That said, seeing Ewan McGregor - this is the first time in Disney era where I feel like I'm seeing something actually Star Wars related and not some larpy fan fiction. Hope this is good.

I can respect that. Now that you mention it I agree.

Mando and Boba (the series) both spent way too much time on ass end of nowhere desert planets. The highlights were when they left those shitholes, but they always seemed drawn back.

Now that you mention it...BFE desert planet major scenes by movie:

EP1: Check (Tatooine)
EP2: Check (Tatooine and Seperatist Base)
EP3: Not totally but ending scene..fuckit Check (Tatooine)
EP4: Check (Tatooine)
EP5: No sand..GOAT of all movies...go figure
EP6: Check (Tatooine)
EP7: Check (Reys planet)
EP8: Check (Rebel base with red salt flats)
EP9: Check (Tatooine)

R1: Check (Forrest Whittaker's planet)
Solo: Check (Tribes peoples spot)

Edit: For all Luke's claims about Tatooine being the dullest place in the galaxy...lots of shit happens there...

Also, I love how they’re smack dab in the middle of ‘rule of 2’ Sith life and there’s no shortage of red light saber slanging force sensitives lmao..

Inquistors arent sith, and dark jedi arnt full blown sith either has always been the explination.
Kylo Ren was not a full blown "sith" for example

Im kind of hoping over time if they go forward in timeline we get something else, and if they go back, we get sith wars

Hmmm... your breakdown added a whole new light to this. ESB is always considered the best and ROTS is always the most liked of the prequels - which is also the least desert...y of those movies.

Could it be that, to make a good SW product - creators should just steer clear from sand?

Take it way back and do a Darth Bane movie. He's cannon.

All my fucks for a Darth Bane trilogy.

Also Disney sucks for doing the rey trilogy instead of the o.g thrawn trilogy. I'm about 100 pages left of book 2 and it is absolutely epic

Given their recent track record, its best for fans if Disney to leave it alone. Both Darth Revan and everything else from the old EU.

However awesome you think it'd be, Disney would fuck it up.

If they actually get some new leadership at LucasFilm, then perhaps they could try to adapt 'Shadows of the Empire' with some added characters, like having Ahsoka train with Luke, and lets see how Disney does with it.

What are the must read Star Wars comics?
All Canon...
  • Main Star Wars comic 2015 to Present. The earlier series events happened between A New Hope and TESB …this new run goes all the way through the triple trilogy & is currently happening
  • Darth Vader-2016 - Present
  • Dr. Aphra - Tanglez with Vader.
  • Crimson Reign - About Crimson Dawn
  • Lando - Short series about Mr. Smooth
  • Tab & Bink - Parady (not Canon)
@EvilDDS is my go-to guy for these types of questionz. Any more additionz my brotheh?

Oh yeah... forgot a really important one if you're into the Clone Wars series or just want to focus on Maul's story.

The only Canon comic to survive the great 2012 purge to remain canon. "Darth Maul - Son of Dathomir..." serves as a direct sequel to a trio of season 5 Clone Wars episodes. The story was written to be a part of the Clone Wars cartoon, but since it got cancelled, they decided to continue it in that comic... & that's why it remained Canon after the great EU purge.

The story continues after the events in the comic... in season 7's last 4 episodes.

The following are all must see if you want to follow Maul'z story since Obi went Sith on him and cut his ass from his torso.
  • Season 5 eps 14 - 16 (Maul's rise to power & taking Mandalore)
  • Darth Maul - Son of Dathomir comic series
  • Season 7 of Clone Wars (last 4 episodes)
This is a fantastic story and well worth your time if you got love for Maul.

You covered all the main ones. There's a few mini series here and there but for me I think it's the Star Wars main comic, Vader and Aphra are the big 3 which cover a ton of material

Currently all 3 of Vader, Aphra and the main Star Wars comic are dealing with Crimson Dawn. Their stories all intertwine

A new Kenobi comic started last week too, it's a limited series, think they're just building up to the Kenobi show on Disney.

First issue was decent. I didn't care for the animation, but the story was fun. Starts with the older Kenobi on Tatooine. The artist is drawing him like Alec Guinness in this first issue. He's just writing in his journal, and he's recalling a story about when he was a Padawan at the Jedi Temple, doesn't have a great command of the Force yet.

Anyway, gets into an adventure with his best friend in the temple and they have to rely on their limited knowledge of the Force to deal with things.

I did bookmark a Thrawn limited series. Not worthy of mention?
That Thrawn limited series is basically a telling of the Thrawn novel, of how he came to join the Imps. It's fun

Good background info, especially since we know we're going to see him soon in the Ahsoka Disney show, which just started filming this week

Can't wait for Disney to lure fans in with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen only to shit on their characters to make Moses Ingram's character the star. Inclusivity ftw.

Yeah I'mma pass. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite Star Wars film and Disney has already fucked the franchise beyond repair.
