Ok ok ok, lets be honest here. You never stood a chance at winning even with the concept art, but you refusing to post it is the cherry on top of your defeat sundae.

The fact that Lucas made Luke a frustrated hermit is canon... not once... but twice in two separate books. The concept art is an instagram relating to those canon facts from the artist who took George's direction in drawing it. a couple of them tweeted it & I can show you all of those references.

There's also an absolutely fantastic article that takes that period of time between the sale & when Lucas split... that shows in great detail the whole situation based on all the known info.

You don't get to see any of that though because you can't manage to quit being mean. So yay... tell yourself you won. Teh fook did you win though?

I've been reading the last few pages of this topic and the conversation reached an impasse here plus it got a tad aggressive on both sides at least for my liking.

@Myrddin Wild wants some simple politeness a truthful please if you will... while @GearSolidMetal refuses to give it out under any circumstance strangely enough and this has resulted in no information being shared/communicated to each other or the public.

Can you guys just try and do a tad better I don't know... maybe there are others reading this and want to get the details out.

Now excuse me from butting in, I don't want to step on anyone toes but if things don't change then I'll be the one asking Wildo politely to share all his deep dive SW lore extensive findings.

What’s to share? It’s public knowledge that George has said he had plans for how he would have rolled out a Sequel Trilogy, and Johnson gave bastardized and weak version of what George was gonna do. The truth of the matter is that only a couple pictures were approved by Lucas, and they only involve the Island temple. Everything else was spitballing ideas for TFA.

If you read what George had planned versus what we got, you’d be pretty miffed. And Luke definitely would not have gone out like some weak punk to make Kira.......ahem.....Rey look better. The again hind sight is 20/20 knowing the crap sequel we wound up with.

I will agree with George in that his trepidation to do the sequel trilogy was warranted. Folks were still butt hurt over the prequels. And the prequels are less hated now on the strength of how the Clone Wars animated series really fleshed that time period out. But I do remember thinking myself how dumb it was at first that Darth Maul survived being halved. Now imagine a casual fan who saw the prequels going WTH with crime boss Maul?

Well maybe just maybe Rian Johnson isn't this crazy hired gun cowboy that has no respect for anyone... maybe you could say he was very respectful of George Lucas and he didn't want to say a single word about it and he let the backlash focus on him fully without redirecting anything at Lucas.

Also why the constant love for the George Lucas writing / legacy... how many here simply pew pew the prequels ? now all of a sudden George is the savior, the one and only.

Luke didn't go out like a punk... imo he was very heroic and very zen like all about peace like a true Jedi master.

I do strongly suspect a lot of what we saw wasnt actually down to Johnson but rather the impact of KK and other execs who were as you say probably more interested in marketing and demographics than making a good film.

As I'v said before the nature of Last Jedi to me just reeks of studio meddling, you have the central plot of the film as a connection building between Rey and Kylo yet at the climax this link it totally thrown away and we get a tacked on ending with them in simplistic hero/villian roles that recycled the well loved Hoth setting. My guess is still Johnsons original idea was that Rey/Kylo link and either there joining or at least their relationship left up in the air but KK and co took the view that Rey as flawless "strong female character" would sell better.

I could see the same being true with Luke as well, I think you see hints in the scenes with Rey that the original idea may have been for Luke to be more of a "Grey Jedi". Basically someone who acknowledges the Darkside as part of life to avoid being controled by it, that the Jedi's unrealistic quest for purity was there undoing. I can equally see KK and the Disney marketing men coming back with "sorry Rian our pie chart shows that Jedi/Sith sells".

Likewise you look at all the laughably bad shit around the Holdo plot I wonder whether this wasnt thrown in to fill a gap and set up that tacked on finale.

The idea KK is some kind of political radical is IMHO nonsense, she's a bean counter and a simplistic and empty take on "woke" politics was just marketing.

You are correct that I came on stronger on you at first. I apologize for that. I typically wait till someone fires the first shot, but in your case it does look like I fired the first shot.

I have this thing where when I see people megablasting Star Wars for sport... it pushes my buttons. You were being pretty brutal & shitting on pretty hard & that's why I came at you. My bad. I almost always come in calm, but I came in hot that time.

It still doesn't excuse all the mean things you said about me though & so I'm holding out an olive branch after reviewing our convo's begining & apologizing for coming on strong. My offer still stands to simply ask nicely & I will show you this fantastic info I've been holding back on. Well I'm not hiding that I'm Wildo's friend and that I share his Star Wars view points on many occasions. Like just have a look at our profiles that are public and it will be instantly revealed.

What I meant about with politeness was to finally get the ball moving again.. last few pages were kinda spinning in a circle. Yet overall if everyone involved would just be a tad more kind with holding back a harsher word here and there things would be so much smoother and will lead to better dialog.

me asking him to be nice had nothing to do with me playing victim. I understand I was dishing it back and I even started it be honest and I usually don't do that but anyway this was about him asking me to tell him what I know and I said well that'll be fine... just ask me nicely. Honestly a lot of the debate just strikes me as either people being driven by politics or just blindly defending the Starwars brand, most of what gets posted by these people is in bad faith and bares little relation to whether the films are actually any good or not.
