Hey guys. I've got 2 kids, ages 5 and almost 7. They are expressing some interest in the Star Wars franchise. I'm a very casual fan who has probably seen 6(?) of the movies, although my strongest memories are of the originally released 3 films. I'm aware there are some shows, too. Where would y'all recommend introducing youngsters to the franchise? I'll probably hit the reset button on my own viewership and (re)start the journey with them.

I'd have your kids watch the movies as they were released...

OT Trilogy (Ep4, Ep5, & Ep6)
Prequel Trilogy (Ep1, Ep2, Ep3) (your kids are young, so they'll still love Ep1 & Ep2)
Clone Wars movie + series
Skip the sequel trilogy (Ep7, Ep8, & Ep9) Don't bother.

And, if your kids are getting into reading, there's no shortage of books that take place thousands of years before the movies, in-between each episode, in-between the trilogies, and directly to decades after the original trilogy concluded.

I was at a used book store the other day, and old paperbacks are DIRT cheap... like a few bucks, max.

And many of the audiobooks have been uploaded onto YouTube.

I'm currently collecting old EU hardbacks, they're surprisingly cheap as well.

OH... forgot to mention, of Disney's movies Rogue One isn't bad. Since I'd recommend Ep1 and Ep2 that one is better than them. Don't bother with Solo though, have them read the Han Solo Cornelian prequel trilogy book series.

And regarding Solo, they purposely left it open-ended because they expected to have sequels to it, but it flopped. Disney's never going to bother giving answers to those questions. Stick to these books.

I don’t mind, personally. The complaints don’t seem worthwhile to me. They could turn that set into a little theme park and bring tourists to that town if they weren’t so stupid about it. And complaining about what happened to wildlife *after the fact* seems rather like what happens whenever a new development or highway or anything is built.

Not that concerned about the environmental affects of the set, but curious if the freaking village plays such a big role in the show. I'm guessing they could have done the same shit that Mandalorian did in The Volume.
