We Only see the Star Ship Shen Zhou, but no Discovery or Captain Lorca. So either the Discovery will be the secret federation ship, that they are calling for help, or it will be the Federation/Klingon hybrid ship, to confront these ancient Klingons.

My guess is that the Shenzhou will be destroyed in the encounter glimpsed in the trailer and Burnham will be reassigned to the Discovery as first officer alongside the survivors. And that the Discovery will be assigned the mission of investigating the vessel that destroyed the Shenzhou.

Many promising aspects. I hate the lensflares.

Also is that the Discovery at around 1:32?

I'm starting to see a pattern here. Uses the word libtard (super original btw), doesn't like any of the captains that aren't white males, doesn't like the fact that Ghostbusters was remade with a female cast. Ok. We get it.

You cracked the case, holy shit!

Lookswise, looks interesting other than the "Klingons".

Other than that, it's rough. Granted it's a trailer, but the acting by the main chic is lacking.

Didn't see anything worthy of subbing to another service for one show, especially when I already have CBS.. Which I don't watch.

Will find other means to watch with minimal effort or wait until it's inevitably on US Netflix.

This new series looks absolutely fucking terrible.

Meh.

EDIT: Huh, for some reason they set it to private. Well, that was the trailer. I didn't care much for it. The designs looks wonky and the part about "my species has been biologically tailored for a single purpose: to sense the coming of death" bit was reallllllly dumb.

EDIT2: Looks like they turned it back on.

I literally feel sick to my stomach after watching that trailer. So bad on so many levels... just... no....

I saw the trailer and thought I was watching a fan made show

It looked really really bad

I didn't think it looked great at first, but CBS finally posted a high quality 1080p version on youtube, and it looked pretty damn good.

Trekyards team does a pretty good job of breaking some things down.

Is it just me or does Burnham have longer ears then normal? She also is acting pretty Vulcan like. It could be cool to see a Human-Vulcan Hybrid, who favors the human side, rather than your typical Spock. Likely has something to do with Amanda Grayson.

So this is Chris Obi, who has stated that he is the Klingon King in the new series

He actually looks like he could be a Klingon. Probably a Klingon from many thousands of year ago

So are these guys also ancient Klingon's who have been trying to bring this guy back, or a sect of the population???

I have a feeling the Traditional Klingon's are still around and kicking, and won't be pleased to see this new/old King Klingon back

So this show will focus on female XO, and Female Cap. With the token male being an alien whose only purpose is to sense death.

I will not watch.

I found one major flaw with the new series... NO RED SHIRTS!!!!! Who is gonna die?

I do like the blue uniforms, which pays homage to ENT, but the new colors are Gold(Command), Silver(Science), and Bronze(Operations). Captains uniform also has shoulder pads.

Shit this does not look good. I grew up watching tos reruns during summer before tng came around. I could never get into any of the series past tng, they all came off to me more like a soap opera than much else. Especially the space station one, i mean come on, that goes totally against what tos was, going out fighting lizard people and banging blue broads.

Wow that looks really bad, how in the hell can they fuck up such a good ip.

How about instead of a fucking prequel "before kirk" shit...we actually have a show take off after the events of the last generation's crew???

And instead of dealing with lense flares and spiralling camera shots we focus in on episodes that deal with the human condition?

Fuck you JJ Abrams...

Yeah I dont get that either

Seems like they really handicap themselves by setting it before all the other series
