SSF Shooto Glove Review

I sent out a few size 36 shorts that came in early but the rest will be here soon. The Shooto gloves, boxing and Thai gloves came in as well as shin pads and they are ready to ship.

How do I knowwhat size I am for these gloves? Is there some kind of glove sizing reference i don't know about?

Are there going to be any smalls in the next run? I like the all leather feature, less stink than my current gloves.

I just got mine today and they look and feel great. I haven't used them yet, but just wearing them they feel comfortable and don't seem like they would hinder my grappling a bit. I agree with whoever said it earlier, a spinning back would not feel good at all. Thanks Ron.

Oh yeah, I haven't too many different kinds of MMA gloves but these seem to make skin on top of the middle joints on fingers a red and irritated. Do your fingers just get used to that? It seems more on my left hand and not so much on my right.(I'm right handed if that has anything to do with it)

I have small, med, large and XL right now. The large and med are going really fast.

My mistake I guess, just didn't see any option for small when I was looking at them. They look a lot like the IMF gloves from CSI, but obviously much cheaper (price of course). Thinking about these especially since the velcro on my current pair is shredding.

Modern, your hands will get use to the rubbing on the knuckles, you can always wrap your hands as well. My hands were like that when I first started using the Ouano version of the Shooto gloves but I don't have any issues any longer.

I didn't have the problem with the knuckle scrapes because I always wrap my hands. This is why it was not in the original review.

I got my gloves in yesterday (size L) and am having the same problem with them rubbing my knuckles, but I figured out what's causing it. The way the leather is wider where it's sewn down to make the finger loops is causing the leather to fold under my middle knuckles when I punch, and is basically stabbing them because my fingers aren't fat enough to fill the finger loops so they won't fold (my hand length fits the gloves perfectly, just not my finger thickness).

I THINK putting some cotton material in the finger loops (where the back of my fingers would sit) will remedy the problem for me, so I'm going to try that first. Otherwise, it's time to do some cutting to make the finger loops smaller.

They fit and feel great otherwise though :icon_chee

Let me know if you want to swap them for a different pair (you can email me at [email protected]). They are hand made so each ones a little different. Most people don't have a problem and once it's broken in the leather will soften.

Sorry, in a rush. If you plan to use wraps- Do you have to get a size bigger?
Thanks in advance~
