After about a 5 year layoff from serious lifting, I'm trying my hand at rippetoe-style midbar squats. Any comments on my form? Second video has a little more weight, and a lifted shirt so that it's easier to see what my back is doing.

    Look forward, not down

Come back out of the hole with your chest up first, not your hips.

Hips are good, but chest out.

    What?

Op, looks good to me. Maybe a very small tail tuck in 2nd video... but I can't tell really.

If he's trying to squat as Rippertoe advises, then his hips should rise first.

I should not have given any input as I am not familiar with lowbar squats.

It's okay. Not all low-bar squats emphasize the hip-drive-first approach, but Mark Rippertoe's does.

they are...I watched a few times to double check. Heel drive is most important.

You got no air in your gut.

Inhale into your stomach as deep as you can, tighten your abs and push them out. You're tightening your abs and sucking them in.
