International Space Force troops finally receive a name. They will be called Guardians

All jokes aside, eventually space will be militarized so having it be a separate branch does make sense. The names and logos they are coming up with are pretty silly, however.
What will they do that NASA and the Air Force doesn't already do? And don't we spend enough money on useless military projects?

FFS, Flint still doesn't have clean water but we we can afford a rollout of a new department name.

We mustn't stand around and allow him to reach his final form.

He already did. Frieza represented the greedy jerks that created the real estate bubble in 1980s Japan. Basically Wallstreet greed, and it's reached its final form now

Uhm.... Protect our satellites from foreign attacks for one. Which actually has already happened once.

Edit- comparing flints water problem to the space force funding is weird. The money for flint should be tapped elsewhere. And/or fine the shit out of the state for not fixing it, being a local problem and not a federal one.

while under the air force, they had to compete with the rest of the branch for resources, manpower, personnel, etc. so depending on who was in charge of the AF at the time, their budget may increase or decrease. the personnel side was especially challenging because the needs of the tip of the spear was always the priority, thus the space force side of the AF didnt get the right people at the right time.

having a separate branch gives them their own budget and they could manage them selves independently. NASA and space force may have some overlap, but they are a non-military organization. they can advise and do things indirectly, but cannot do anything that is in direct support of DoD. i wouldnt consider space force a useless project. everything we do is inter-related to space. GPS, communications, commerce, intel.... we get that from satellites.

This would be a lame joke for sitcom to make. How is this real life? No one is going to take this shit seriously

Good observation.

Flint not having clean water is entirely on them at this point, they were given a pile of money to fix it and managed to not fix the problem by mismanaging the funds to a hilarious degree. Also, that has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

I'm torn on this one.

Makes some sense to have all the assets in space under one branch.

But also makes sense to not have a failed real estate agent, who is know for a reality tv show and for owning teen modeling agencies with his :eek::eek::eek:phile friends, have anything to do with it.
