Public stoning I can rally around because that's for the people, by the people. Takes the government out of it at the end anyway, which I like. Could do a lottery system like some national parks have implemented, or go traditional and let the vicitims family handle it. Or maybe communities get to bid on it for the rights and then they charge entrance and fees for stones. There's a lot of ways to split it up. I mean this is definitely more torture than execution but thats what people pretend they want. How do you feel about public stonings? You can even charge everyone $5-20 to throw a stone, the bigger the stone the more it costs, but we make sure the stones are small enough that he doesn't get one shot killed.
I personally think a lot of criminals should be spared jailtime and get to choose between different injuries for their punishment with the punishments being proportionate and relative to the crimes. I think it would be a far more effective crime deterrant than what we do now. Oh no jail, just some fines and a disfiguring injury. I bet plenty would pick jail lol
