Sound cuts out playing games in fullscreen over HDMI to TV

Ahh, the AMD sound driver was crashing and not recovering or recovering in time for Windows/game application. If it happens again check Event Viewer to confirm.
You might be right. I'm going through the event viewer now and there were some warnings in the system log a few days ago for AMD drivers failing to load. I will check it again right after the next crash. Thanks!

Yeah its tough to diagnose over a forum board. When you disclosed that when it stops working your Realtek sound driver becomes default. Cause is obvious then.

Hopefully it stops with the new driver. Sadly if it doesnt, your main remedy outlet is contacting AMD's GPU driver software engineers.

My problem is the screen blinking to all black for a few or more seconds randomly and I assume it was from before I bought the HDMI auto switch and probably wore down the HDMI ports from keeping switching HDMI cable to PS4 and Apple TV instead of having dedicated HDMI cable for each.
