Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

Dunno, the shot was right on without the head turn, so hitting a head sized target from 140 yards with iron sights after he turned the gun at the cop who confronted him and having to reset quickly and start shooting is a pretty good shot for a 20 year old who isn't especially trained.
We don't know that Crooks was aiming for the head though. Plus, you have to factor in luck for a shot that went anywhere near Trump's head.
Even more, the dude flew his drone over to find out what position on the roof to be where a tree would block him from the south side sniper team, and the north team that did shoot him was facing the other way, then shimmy up the back of the roof so he wouldn't be visible until he was over the peak. Plus homemade explosives with a detonator apparently without having any search history on how to make it, a range finder, then got a ladder that he didn't end up needing, but did get one because he already knew where he was going to shoot from probably a week in advance.
There really was no need for a drone or a rangefinder. A lot of things worked in Crooks' favor that day.
...one thing worked in Trump's favor that day.

From a former Navy SEAL:

That dude also says he and 10 dudes could take over any major us city. So you know, grain of salt and all that

There’s zero evidence of an inside job. Makes no sense.
You're some kind if sheep if you want verifiable sources for information. If you want to get to the bottom of what happened you gotta go deep diving for people that give only information that is known to them and can't be backed up by any source other than them.

I think the drone was to find the angle of the CS teams and which rows on the roof had the tree hiding them so the sniper team facing that direction couldn't see him, which is why the northside team were the ones that had to swivel around and shoot him instead of the ones that were already facing that direction.

The ladder in the pictures was put up by police after, so I'm not sure where and how he climbed up, but if it was the AC unit, that was right in front of the window where the other team was, so he needed them to have moved at that exact time and also needed to crawl below the roof line the whole way over. The shot itself isn't that incredible if it weren't for having to turn the gun on the other cop and then turn back and aim again and shoot quickly, which does make it pretty tough, but getting there to even take the shot had like 10 things that could have wrecked it that all went his way.

Also, he seems to have had that spot specifically picked out from like 4th of July weekend and came back multiple times to the same spot, so if he gets there earlier after he stashed his gun and has a car full of explosives and a detonator, and there was CS team on the roof like there should have been, does he just say "nevermind" and abandon the plan?

So go diving. As of now it’s not a very plausible scenario.

The only reason I say this is because the complete incompetence of the security detail is astonishing. They just left open the most obvious spot for a shooter to shoot from. They knew about the threat for an hour before Trump went on stage and still let him go out there. The kid was flying a drone over the area and had been seen with a range finder. The guy just propped up a ladder on the building that SS and police were inside of using it as a staging area. Witnesses were yelling to SS and the cops that he was on the roof with a gun and they were ignored. The snipers behind Trump were locked on the target and didn't fire until Crooks shot. The excuse by SS that they weren't on the roof is because it was sloped, while having snipers on other roofs with steeper slopes. None of it makes sense whatsoever. Everyone on security detail that day should be out of a job, they aren't qualified to guard a Walmart bathroom let alone a presidential candidate.

I've never known any kind of shooter.... to factor in " luck "

Oh, it looks awful and utterly embarrassing.

This is obviously dumb, everyone can't have the same level of training and/or experience at the same time in an organization of thousands.

It's not about valuing one or the other, but the practical effect of basic concepts of reality like time.
Its obvious you have a weak understanding of high level training and elite work environments. It's likely too complicated a subject for someone like you

It's obvious you have a fantasy perception of reality and human capability.

I was a lifeguard for 4 summers. We would rotate posts every 15 minutes. I never once stopped scanning my posted area. Never. It was my job to scan for swimmers in distress and save them. In four summers I never abandoned my post.

3 PD snipers in charge of overwatch of the roof abandoned their post. What. The. Fuck.

One went home. One left to try to find Crooks but failed. He forgot his security card and was locked out so the third officer abandoned the overwatch leaving the roof free to anyone. During this time Crooks climbed on, crawled and shot.

This is what they say.

I can relate. I've worked in several high pressure environments for companies like UPS which is over a century old. These companies wouldve never survived even a few months much less decades without ensuring high level uniform training and accountability.

Now multiply this by the importance of tasks to include protection of VIPs?... there is no way the secret sevice runs a Mickey Mouse operation to the point that the three stooges just so happened to be on call that day to protect a former POTUS. It's asinine to expect a massive gap in performance from a high level operation like this.

Apologies for incompetence is the argument here
