Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

Funny thing is that is what happened with Trump which is why he's complaining about Biden stepping down and Harris taking his place. This is where the "subvert democracy" talking point is coming from and all his toy soldiers have gotten the marching order and acted accordingly.

That's fair, and I can understand where a reasonable person can question that. There are some theories way the fuck out there...

But I'd like to stay on topic and try to focus on the facts for now

Looks like the head of FBI didn't have much to say either. Do you know if he mentioned a timeline for when they'll finish their investigation?

Like the entire DNC didn't know Biden wasn't fit to run a couple years ago... lol

Maybe but it’s not like they could unilaterally force him out. Either way it’s a good thing they’re not trying to have a primary this late in the game. That would be really stupid, right?

For all you knuckle-in-the-dirt MAGtard monkeys saying the election was over as soon as Trump's ear was grazed... well, here we are, a whole 10 days later, and it is already off the front page of every major news site.

Oh, and Kamala's ahead, lol.

Exclusive: Harris leads Trump 44% to 42% in US presidential race, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds

Now, I'm not a right-wing grifter by nature. But I must confess, I totally understand the temptation.

Making money of off your collective stupidity would be literally the easiest lucrative job in the world.

Just a few pages ago somebody came with this angle and I already get to repost the same pic just a couple of pages later?

Also, you're in the wrong thread. Try this one:

Voters vote for the combined Biden-Harris or Trump-Vance ticket so I do think its fair to say they are elected even if most people are casting their ballot for the presidential nominee. And again a core function of the VP is to succeed the POTUS so I don't see what the big issue with Kamala succeeding Biden in the primary presents. Further, I think its telling that most of the hand-wringing over this is coming from the right and not Biden voters like me.
In this case, shoving Kamala down everyone's throat without a mini primary means we also don't get to pick the vice president... so democracy has been subverted.

We should be able to choose not only who we want for president, but who we want for vice president. Locking Kamala in before she's even chosen a vice president subverts democracy.

What should happen imo is an intense mini primary where the voters get to decide who is going to be the president based on that person's debates and the vice president they choose.

People are aching for genuine democracy now and taking 2 or 3 weeks to form a mini primary debate would be the best option for people's faith in the country and in the Democratic party in general.

Edit, I just realized I'm not even in the vice president thread so I'll stop derailing!!!

The GOP just held a half assed sham primary themselves and Trump isn't even an incumbent.

He didn't debate any of the candidates and was just awarded the nomination. (And no one cared)
"Awarded the nomination" by the voters. It's a crazy new thing the kids are calling "democracy". Thousands of democrats even switched their party registration to try to vote for a weaker opponent because their own party didn't have one that counted, ya know, because of their deep respect for democracy.

Lol at you clowns twisting yourselves into pretzels to pretend you didn't get cucked by your party leaders telling you to shut the fuck up, sit down and do what you're told.

I disagree, the process would be too chaotic and leave the Dems with too little time to campaign for the nominee. I'm happy to see them close ranks behind Harris and simplify everything instead of risking everything on a contentious open convention. The focus should be, as Biden famously said, to "put Trump in the bull's eye" in the sense of focusing on him rather than fighting each other. Biden stepped down so now is the time to go after Trump.

Other countries do their primaries in 2 to 5 weeks. It's not only doable but there's a template to follow.

The people should have more of a say in a democracy if we're trying to engender any kind of faith in democracy. Faith that presently is deeply and profoundly missing.

But you must at least concede that the some of the arguments you were using are false because we didn't choose Kamala to be the president unless Biden died or stepped down and she was going to take over but he did neither.

Interestingly you termed democracy is fighting against one another.

We are also derailing the thread and should stop.

I didn't know, but an investigation for something like this needs to walk a fine line between thorough and timely...

Secret Service fucked up with a bullshit "roof was sloped" excuse

That's other countries though where presumably all parties only have a 2-5 week primary. To nominate someone who only has less than four months to campaign against Trump who has been campaigning non-stop since 2015 is really risky.

Thread is 500 pages long, going a bit off topic is fine.

I don't concede that any arguments I used were false, I think picking the VP as the nominee is an obvious move all things considered

And? The point is that the race was not reshaped to any statistically significant degree by the assassination attempt. It's still a margin of error contest.

The MAGuggles were predicting that the election was OVAH because Trump had a cool photo op.
