Someone needs to have a talk with Dana

Who actually likes Paddy? Who are these "fans" who like him? Nobody around here has good things to say. Nobody talks about him when he doesn't have a fight coming soon. Even now with this fight, most of the talk is about Tony.

There's this idea that Paddy is popular but...where's the evidence? Fake followers on Instagram?

But I’m pretty sure Tony gets cut if he loses to Paddy, but doesn’t retire. When Dana says you should retire. That pretty much means the company doesn’t think you’re worth the cost of your contract anymore. And he might even be thinking about a fighter’s future health.. Or not?

But the writing is on the wall.

I'd like to agree, but I remember Dana saying that about a lot of aging superstars when they start declining badly. He told guys like BJ Penn, Chuck Liddell, maybe Anderson SIlva too, that they should retire, but couldn't say no to them when they begged for more fights.

Dana's been "good" to them in one sense, respecting their adult decision and the need/wish to make more money. So I think if Tony loses, even if badly, he can get one or even two more fights in the UFC if he begged Dana.

About where babies come from?

Yes someone needs to explain the birds and the bees to him.

I tried to tell Dana all this at lunch today but all he kept saying was "fuck it, it's Friday" and eating really unhealthy food. Idk what the deal was.

Fixed it for TS cause apparently he didn't go to school.

"I understand the Tony vs Paddy matchup. It's the classic aging veteran with a big name against the rising company star. I'm a fan of Tony Ferguson. How can you not be? His fighting style, out there personality and his rise to serious title contender were great to witness.

I've watched a few of Tony's fights the past few days and a couple of Paddy's. Tony still shows flashes of his greatness, still comes to fights in shape and still has the fighting spirit. That is the good news.

Tony is on a 6 fight losing streak, will be a couple months shy of 40 when he fights Paddy and no longer can rely on his toughness to win a war of attrition. Can Tony win this fight? Yes it is possible.

Paddy hangs that chin out there and is willing to exchange, he can be caught. Most likely scenario is Tony stuns him a couple of times in the first round when they are both tagging each other and Paddy submits him late in the second round.

In the lighter divisions, being close to 40 is a serious disadvantage. Combine that with a six fight losing streak including being finished in his last 3 fights and Paddy is rightfully a clear favorite.

Just mentioning Tony Ferguson is misleading since this is 2023 (almost 2024) Tony Ferguson, 6 fight losing streak Tony Ferguson, ~40 year old Tony Ferguson and finished 4 out of the last 6 losses Tony Ferguson.

No disrespect to Tony, he's had a hell of a career and I wish him nothing but good health and a prosperous future. I realize Dana's out there trying to sell air conditioners to Eskimos in Alaska but lets just keep things in perspective."

What a champ thing to do. TY.

Dont forget the fact that he refuses to change like the Diaz Bros. Very stubborn to do any other way, his fall of grace is partially because he cannot take damage, the big factor is his fundamentals are all over the place. Dude used to be a wrestler, what happened to that? What happened to his jab?

Change my friend, why wouldn't he want it?

Edit: I appreciate Tony, so different from the pack that is so refreshing to see. Man is one of kind type of person. Yet it hurts to see him get demolished.
