Hey guys!

UFC 225 was so awesome. My friend's cousin from out of town was over and we watched the fight. She's a "filthy casual" (heh heh) and I'm trying to get her into UFC so when she moves here we can watch fights together.

So an interesting thing. Colby won the fight like I knew he would and I enjoyed it but I wonder how much appeal he is going to have. My friend's cousin said that he looks too pretty to be a fighter and that he looks like he is "stalling" and avoiding having to fight. She said it was a boring fight at the end of it and that she probably doesn't want to watch him fight again.

So this brings up an interesting question. If a young girl doesn't want to watch a pretty boy fight and thinks he is boring, how is Colby going to get Conor's level of PPV buys, etc. It seems most of his "fans" are actually haters.

Also, the main even was so awesome. Everytime Yoel would do his spinning back fist, everyone gasped in excitement. Everyone was waiting for the KO punch from Yoel and it almost came! TWICE! it was crazy how Robert survived and ended up wining. My friend's cousin said that she thinks that Yoel won easily and it was a no contest because he was winning a lot in the end.

But I beg to differ. Yoel conserved his energy in the first rounds while Robert was fighting. So if you reward people who lag and stall in the earlier rounds, then every championship or 5 round fight will be 4 rounds of stalling and 1 final round of crazy fighting. Robert's earlier aggression and attacks need to be rewarded and I think the proper decision was made at the end. Robert deserved it. He made weight and fought with a broken thumb against an obviously much bigger fighter.

Also when I was dropping my friend's cousin off at LAX, we were talking about the fights and she said Yoel Romero had the most ridiculous body she's ever seen and it seemed like she was into it (if you know what I mean). I did a bunch of sit ups this morning and I'm going to try to get shredded before she comes back later in the summer lol. How many situps a day should I do? I can do like 30 before It starts to hurt real bad. How many situps do you think Yoel Romero can do?

So did you fuck your friends cousin?

Yoel Romero can do a comical number of sit ups.
Thousands probably.

Of course a striker is always going to have a greater appeal than a grappler, it's just a reality of the culture we live in.

If its "walking dead times" and some guy comes out from behind a tree and bum rushes you.....you gotta be able to stop the takedown.

It doesn't matter if youre a pretty boy,... or if some ignorant female casual is entertained.

youre dead if you cant stop the guy.

if your style wins....its superior.

its irrelevant if its boring.

Next time take your cousin to Azusa and drink a few King Corba 40oz before the fight guey. Then after take her to City of Industry and bang behind the interstate. LA for life pollito

You can do better... being ripped like Sage should get you at least mid-tier. Also. Show her your Sherdog account and the 2k plus likes…

Crazy how wrestling proves to be the single most defining skill in both mma and combat time and time again and you still get ufc so called fightfans mad when a wrestler smothers a spinningkicking ninja with ease.

I'm thinking ruphies would be your best bet based on everything in the first post.

Finally, Kenny has spoken.

Mods, you can just delete all those other UFC 225 threads now.

Lol facts and colby outlanded RDA. RDA at no point had colby hurt and colby was cutting off the octagon and controlling the pace with ease. RDA got outwrestled and outstruck. The people here who hate wrestling are too lazy for wrestling and too dumb for boxing.

Colby won because RDA played his game, i noticed a few things:
1. How RDA was moving towards the cage wall to tire out colby and land some knees to the body also to tire him
2. How RDA was letting colby recover after rocking him like 4x i believe
3. RDA was holding back and thought colby would get tired which he did get tired after the 2nd round i believe (idk i was drinking at the tgi fridays bar while watching the fight)

Come to think of it, i think RDA didn't start trying until the 5th round, and i don't really like this new breed of mma fans, but i cant really say much about them since i haven't been watching all the fights but have been keeping up to date.

And this new breed of mma fans 90% of them haven't trained in a gym, or maybe even been in a real fight, they're like "boxers can't win in a real fight (some of them mean that on the streets and in mma)" when this new breed of mma fans watched the tony ferguson and kevin lee fight, they failed to realize that ferguson wasn't even trying, some of them see a fighter throwing less strikes and think "he sucks"

And this new breed of mma fans also complain about people missing weight and don't appreciate the 5 round fights that aren't wars but were pretty good, but still hate to see a ground battle but i like to see the ground and pound and the good technique brawls.

I feel that RDA would've won that fight if he didn't play colby's game.

Hey Kenny. I don't want to be the one to have to tell you this... but your friend's cousin is probably getting dicked down by some jacked black dude right now. You will unfortunately never have Yoel Romero's body, no matter how many sets of 30 situps that you do.

All is not lost for you though, Kenny. You could still win her over with your immense charm and playful sense of humour. Just be yourself Kenny, you don't have to change to impress your friend's cousin. Eventually the right girl will come along who accepts you for who you are.

Hi Kenny,

Do 350 situps and pushups every night.

ANIM4L

My suggestion for next time is to try to make a move instead spending the whole time talking about mma.

Hes not ready for that yet, he has to do 100 push ups 100 squats and 100 sit ups and run 3 miles a day at first he'll want to die but in the end it will be worth it ( i dont remember the whole one punch man line feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)
