Been working my dumb sales job all weekend

The sales guy across from me is just hiding in his shed the whole shift

He fears these cost co managers like the FBI.

“Respect power man.. gotta do that”

Yeah sure man.. I agree. Itreat the managers with respect. A little more formality

They tell me to take my hat off, I take it off

I don’t bow to them and shit. Thats worse then disrespect imo

If you’ve seen office space, you recall that the fat dude who’s terrified of the managers gets canned.. and the main character stops giving a fuck and gets promoted

There’s some truth to that. What do you guys think?

Cop for 16 years ... its not an irrational fear and its really fucking stressful

My point isn’t that it’s irrational it’s that fear makes things worse.

If you’re doing a traffic stop who are you going to press — the guy who’s overly casual or the guy who seems nervous

Some people are raised to always respect and submit to authority. So by the time they are adults it is a part of who they are. I think they look at it as the structure of society that should be followed so society continues to function.
Some also get like that from tyrannical or overbearing parents
He sounds like he may be overdoing it...maybe he can't face criticism or he lives in constant fear of losing his job?

You just need another "Co-worker" to create that circle jerk in the shed......it's not gay if you watch social media whilst you do it.... So a friend told me.....

Exactly what is this lack of fear you prize yourself for possessing purchasing you?

So you're not afraid of the "cost co-managers". Cool. So what costs are you running up that make your life so much better at the job?
Sounds like your asshole co-worker doesn't want to work so he's just hiding so your managers don't see him slacking off.
What? Isn't "shed" a synonym for cubicle? Your cubicle is your workstation. How is he hiding from work by being in his workplace? The people I've known who avoid work always find these magical excuses to be anywhere but the place they're supposed to be for doing work.

If someone is desperate to hide away, out of the sight of their managers all the time, it's probably because they are on their phone, fucking around, not working... from personal experience.

Ah, so you don't see it as something they can naturally outgrow with maturity.
I don't really know to be certain. I haven't seen it that I can recall but I guess it could happen. Plenty of folks (especially in the work place) get more scared of managers as they get older as they don't lose their jobs in their later years.
I guess others get more confident and comfortable and have less fear. It's an interesting topic.

Would you get turned off if your love interest was a kiss-ass to the corporation on Linkedin? And that's pretty much your first introduction to her.. Can you respect that person?

Is she is simply following the rules and doing her job, that's not an issue.

If she is 'sucking up' or being a kiss ass to climb the ladder or whatever then no, I do not want her. I am not a fan of people that do that. I find often they are full of hidden agendas, self interest and can be dishonest.
