The closest thing to "receiving government handouts" most illegals actually receive are basic civil liberties like being allowed to attend public school and being treated at emergency rooms. But the government writing out checks, giving food stamps, giving out cell phones or anything else doesn't actually happen to 99.95% of illegals.

If you actually listen to what Vivek says, and he has talked to Trump on the issue and also very well may be press secretary or in the admin, and may be responding to these things as they happen, but first the criminals and people who may not be a known criminal, but then commit a crime, then those that arrived in the last 1-2 years, and don’t have roots here, and then simply cutting off their slush funds and they will leave on their own.

Mostly just because they were sold on unrealistic expectations they now realize don't exist. Even in the Obama Era the amount of illegal Mexicans entering was net zero when accounting for those who left. It's not hard to imagine the Guatamalans and Venezuelans are starting to lean in that direction now.
