Sokoudjou - the man who's fought in every major MMA promotion ever

Sengoku and Heros....But that's still a vast majority of the major organizations and quite the sccomplishment.

He's only had 26 fights too. Pretty cool stuff.

what about RINGS?

Plus, in my mind, if you didn't fight in EliteXC, you didn't do real MMA

Not that pro fighters are looking to make their name off of being a journeyman, but that is still a pretty damn impressive stat.

Also, MFC and KSW are notable enough to be mentioned on this list, as well. Two of the bigger orgs available outside of the States, imo...

I always thought that if he trained properly, Sokoudjou would have been something special. Has the raw athletic talents for sure

Yep, when he got famous after his back-to-back ko wins over Lil'Nog (top 5) and Arona (top 10), Dan Henderson was saying that he was rag-dolling everyone at Team Quest.
Then he fought Machida, and lost the match + something. That something that made him a top fighter...

(funny that back in the days, Glover was only known as "that dude that beat Sokoudjou")

Good point, fellas. MFC and KSW are pretty big (international) organizations as well. Man, Soko has fought everywhere.

Being a journeyman is highly underrated by Sherdoggers. You travel the world and truly live life while getting paid to train and fight. It's an awesome gig and any of us would be lucky to try it.

Yes, almost anyone would love a stab at the UFC. But just like Soccer and the big clubs/leagues, that pinnacle comes with so much BS and politics, some are happier to spend their time doing what they love and being appreciated where they are.

What about YAMMA Pit or something like that.

You can't say you train UFC if you didn't fight there.

We don't really weigh that when discussing Journeymen. Sure they have a job they love to do, they get to travel and get paid to do it. But when we talk about Journeyman we tend to focus on their in ring ability or general lack of certain in ring abilities.

He has fought in a lot of big promotions. Never settled for the local circuit.

Good management.
