The assumption is that there was a ''functional economy'' to destroy in the first place, there wasn't. If anything under Chavez things improved dramatically , although they utterly mismanaged a great economic boom by overrelying on high oil prices and not diversifying the economy and that came back to bite them in the ass.

Venezuela was a powerhouse in food production, it produced its basic industrial needs and it met its energy needs.

The only thing Chavez had was high-sky oil prices, everything set for what came under Maduro had already been set in motion by Chavez and Maduro still does whatever the Cubans tell him to, thats why Chavez hand picked him.

I can't find the source but Castro had to explain to Chavez that oil takes a long time to develop under the ground. It is a long process. lol. Chavez thought it was like an instant process. He was a total idiot.

The US is destroyed. Look at my example I come from a place that a months work netted me $6 USD ...as a doctor lmao. Had to “buy” food from my own grandmother who hustled beef and grain from the government. Mannnnn don’t even get me started on getting some new shoes and getting a common cough treated. Owned nothing and was worth nothing

The destroyed USA has pretty much given me everything. Large house, cars, collection of shoes, can eat what I want when I want at a moments notice. Can provide an abundance of luxuries for me and mine and am free to yell out of my door any kind of political obscenities

But yes while I dine on grass fed and massaged kobe beef watching my big ass tv....I often think to myself wow I wish I was eating white rice with beans (beans being the protein) and hoping grandmas connect smuggled in some ice cream next month
