So with Max vs Justin, does that mean Islam vs Leon?

As an aside, I hope they don't make Leon/Islam. Stop holding up two divisions and rack up some defenses, people.
That would suck so bad.

What does a win over Islam do for Leon? "He beat a smaller guy with 0 defenses at LW"

A win for Makhachev is definitely valuable but now you have two whole divisions of contenders sitting there. Makhachev will either have to give up the LW belt, which I don't know if he would. Or each division gets AT MOST 1 title fight every year, because Makhachev is not fighting more than twice a year especially title fights.

It means the UFC continues to fuck up the title scene in one of its best divisions and stinks at planning. Gaethje/Islam should have already been booked with Tsarukyan/Olives right on it's heels to carry to the division through the next six to eight months.

At least BDS/Poirier might create another contender in BDS, but if that's the case, is he going to sit around for a year waiting for a title shot since Olives/Tsarukyan is supposedly next? What do they do with Gaethje after finishing Poirier and beating Fiziev if gets a win over Max? Just piss poor decision making.

Why didn't Benny get his title fight? Why didn't Olives end up fighting Tsarukyan in the meantime? Wasn't Gaethje next? It's a shit show.
Why would BDS have to sit around for a year like he's some interim champ? It would be his first ranked win in his career against a guy coming off a loss after getting 30-26'd by an unranked guy not that long ago. Maybe he could get a 2nd ranked win before feeling entitled to sit out for a title shot? And that's if he even beats Poirier when he's the underdog.

And what meantime? Arman just got his first ranked win a month ago and is already booked to fight again. Gaethje might be next, or they might have Islam fight Leon and vacate if he wins, so Gaethje would fight the winner of Arman/Charles for a vacant title. Nobody knows, but it's silly to have several guys on 1 or 2 fight win streaks all feel like 1 ranked win entitles them to sit out and wait for a title shot.
