So why won't Nate fight Tony?

He scared homey! If he lose to ferg. No more Connor money!

I believe they need to pay him much more. Nate's price is probably north of $2.5m and the UFC is definitely too greedy to pay that.
NAte is not worth 2.5 million. I would give him 1 mil to fight Tony and that's a stretch

He thinks he's a draw that's worth millions of dollars per fight.
Fighting Tony, isn't getting him millions, plus if he wins he's doing Conor's job for him.

Seriously though what's up with this? I listened to the MMA hour with him, and in all of his rambling he really doesn't give a legit reason why he won't fight him. Nate would be getting all the opportunity here. Tony is ranked number 1 so Nate would be leap frogging a bunch of people. If he were to beat Tony he would be guaranteed a fight with Conor basically.

So to me there is only two real reasons why he is ducking Tony so bad. 1). He is afraid of Tony. No if, and or buts. If you are a fighter and another fighter calls you out, there is no reason to not accept it. Especially if he's his WEIGHT class. Speaking of that... Reason 2.) He can't make 155 anymore. Yes he fought majority of his career at 155. But if you go back to when he fought Rory MacDonald at 170 back then, Nate is very clearly smaller than when he fought conor at 170, especially in the second fight. He's also OLDER. The weight cut just not be easy enough anymore. If that's the case he needs to just come out and say it. Either he transioned to 170 like cowboy, or he retires.
If Diaz loses to Ferguson which is pretty much a sure thing, it might interrupt or decrease the interest level in a 3rd fight with McGregor. Neither Diaz or McGregor want any part of Ferguson. They both know its a loss or a tough fight even if they might find a way win.

If he wins he would be securing his position for a rubber match with the LW title on the line when Conor returns. Would be the biggest pay day of his life.

Not arguing that at all. Just that because Nate made so much money from his two Conor fights he has priced himself out of the market.

this is an easy one.

because nate knows deep in his heart he would get smoked like salmon against Tony.

....and nate had to keep his conor "mystique" in order to get the rematch money fight.

nate already has a date with conor even conor to this date states that they will meet again

if nate beats tony then if conor ever comes back he will be leapfrogging everyone to face nate, nate doesnt want to do conors dirty work and fight tough top ranked opponents so then conor wont have to especially when he knows he will fight conor in the future

imo nates playing it smart he and the world know conor cant beat top elite LWs like tony and kabaib if conor does return and somehow manages to find balls to fight tony and loses guess who gets a rematch w/o breaking a sweat...nate if conor somehow beats tony in his first or second try nate will probably still be in line for a rematch against conor after the tony fight

also nate made a lot of money off of conor and he and his brother arent really into fighting and going through the ranks to become a number 1 contender

its the ufc fault for paying conor so much which led to paying nate more for both of his fights against conor nate didnt want the rematch and wanted his pay to be close to conors in the first fight due to the short notice they basically became saturated to the point where they dont need to be fighting

if ufc didnt pay conor and nate so much last year theyd be fight this year FACT the baby excuse and mayweather fight is BS you dont need that much time off for a child birth and you would need more than 6 months to train for a boxing match with floyd he damn near need that amount for nate 2 just to make it to 5rds against a slow pot head

Nate is delusional. He thinks he's as big a draw or bigger than McGregor and wants huge money to fight.
