So what's your irrational fear?

I love heights, but my father freaks out over them. It is always fun to mess with him. At the hoover damn, the grand canyon, and the badlands I kept getting right up to the edge, partially because I would anyway and partially because it was funto see him freak out a little bit. These days he knows I am pretty sure footed and has gotten used to me doing that type of thing so it doesn't bother him.

A dam would count as a building. Seems like anything manmade gets me worse. Not really happy on the edge of a cliff, but literally spins and shaking up high on a building. Same deal on a staircase that goes high where I can see through it... and escalators too. It's just there, a physical reaction, i have no control over it other than to just deal with it as it happens.

Roaches. They scare the shit out of me. I really do think it's irrational because I grew up country and in 4-H. I have handled many different types of animals, some bigger and stronger then me but I showed them who's boss. But if I see a roach and I'm alone, I'll either get one of my cats to eat it, throw something heavy at it from a distance, or if I can, get someone else to kill it. I've even gotten my girlfriend to kill them for me. I'm not kidding.

Telephones. I'm not terrified of them, but for some strange reason I get nervous when they ring

Call Orkin. Roaches in the house is a freaking no no.

I don't know how irrational my fears of someone breaking into my home is, I think it's pretty rational but other people think I'm paranoid. I caught two people dressed in all black standing right outside my front window at about midnight once. But my wife and mother in law still think I'm crazy because I lock my front door at all times.

You are definitely not alone. My dad always says how they never bothered him when he was younger, but now they freak him out. For some reason heights never really bother me, especially after hiking up Angel's Landing in Zion with a recently healed wrist/collar bone.

I hate phones too, they make me feel uncomfortable. When I'm speaking to someone face to face, no problem. Talking over the phone, the conversation can't end fast enough and I sound nervous too. Hell whenver a phone ring the first word that comes out of my mouth is usually "fucking telefon".

I've never really had a problem with them living in a house. It was just a few incidents when I was living in apartments in Austin. So it's up to the apartment management to deal with them. And if you have any experience living in apartments, they are almost always incompetent idiots.

If you had an apartment in Austin, you should have been more worried about the scorpions.

Snakes for sure. This might not be irrational if we were talking fear of being bit by a Viper or crushed by an Anaconda, but I'm talking a garter snake damn near paralyzes me if I see it.

Sounds like they are the crazy ones. Unless they hired those two people to cut you out of the picture. Watch your ass and suspect everyone.
