So They're Actually Trying to Pass Off the Fake UFC Belt as PPV Main Event-Worthy Now?

I think the belt is worthless. But this fight is still main event worthy to me given the circumstances, and the 2 names involved.

After thinking about this for a minute, it is a very interesting and valid point particularly given the very odd title activity recently. UFC fights are sanctioned by the state commissions but I believe the point you are making and seems to be correct is that there is no actual governance of UFC titles.
Exactly!!! They adhere to AC rules, or some rules, yet the titles belong to the promotions.

If the UFC says the BMF is a legit title then it is, interim titles or BMF titles are created out of thin air, when undisputed goes vacant is not always #1 vs #2 for the now vacant title.

THIS is a belt the UFC determines when and isn't real as it's not actually a championship belt.
Isnt that what posted? They are as valid as the UFC says they are, thats what makes it a promotional title just like the divisional title, they belong to the promotion, in boxing you dont see the PBC or Top Rank champion...

I didn't get why you're saying "now". This is the 4th BMF fight and I believe the 3rd to headline a card. The companies biggest card in history is the one time it didn't headline

UFC 318: Holloway vs Poirier for the BMF "title", really?

Holloway vs Gaethje is virtually the same level of fight and wasn't even co-main at UFC 300, albeit that was a super stacked mega card.

Still...

It's not a real title fight.

I also can't see a real title fight that fell off the card, either.

I haven't paid attention, what's Sherdog's thoughts on this? Furious? Happy? Buying? Not buying?
I don't know why you're acting surprised. The BMF belt has headlined a PPV literally every time it's been on the line except for at 300, which was a super-stacked card with two other title fights on it.

Again, outside of 300 which is the real outlier, the whole point of the BMF belt is to carry a PPV with a fight between two fan favorites on a card that otherwise wouldn't have any title fights on it.

Normally right before the events that I complain about, I get a last second rush of excitement for them, even if I complained ahead of time. Not feeling that for this one. UFC Chicago is all that's on my mind.

BMF Belt is a fucking joke.

Max should've lost it.

He got knocked out and even ran away from the 'BMF moment' when Ilia pointed to the ground.

The UFC has been putting on watered down cards for years. When they were growing the fastest is when they were putting on exciting cards.
The main event should be great tonight. As for the rest of the card, there might be some competitive fights but no one is going to care about the outcomes

No cause a divisional title exists at all times beside your ranking, and is also sanctioned by the commissions as needing to occur at the exact weight class instead of allowing being over like the regular fights can be.

The BMF exists under none of these. It truly only exists if, when, and where the UFC says it does.

Dustin weighed in at 156. It’s clearly not a legit title otherwise the commission rules would be in effect that he’d need to have weighed 155.

Yup, just like Aldo and Rousey, crowned UFC champions without fighting, Flyweight and Bantamweight inaugural champions came from a fight, unlike those others, thin air.
