Poor Jaimie, man.. it didn't matter weather Monster was landing on his face, body, arm, shoulder, it looked painful. Cant blame him for crying.
This kid is physically gifted af.

Inoue is a beast and could be genuinely special, but I really question McDonnell's quality after that. Can't take too much away from Inoue, though. McDonnell was a titlist who had beaten some decent fighters and Inoue completely annihilated him.

Heading into this fight I wasn't 100% familiar with McDonnell but it seemed he was at least the longest reigning champ of all the others at bantamweight and as you said he has some decent wins. I figured at the very least it might be a mid to late stoppage 7, 8 or 9 .

Fight starts and McDonnell seemed bothered by almost everything Inoue landed. The power he's able to generate is so amazing and seems to increase as he moves up.
I really hope that WBSS tourney has a lot of quality opponents.

Skilled guy, as well. He can box when he needs to. His doesn't have a massive frame, though, so I don't think he'll top out too much higher than BW, but three divisions is plenty impressive already.

McDonnell has talked about moving up in weight for awhile, he might have been a bit drained for this fight and he's decentish but not special by any means.

Inoue is super special and just obliterated him, shots landing on arms were sending McDonnell reeling, crazy power.

It was a bit reminiscent of Foreman moving Norton with everything he threw.

I think Naoya absolutely deserves a top P4P spot but Jamie McDonnell has been one of the weakest world champs in boxing for a while now.

He shouldve lost 4 of his last 5 fights, and the 1 guy he beat was the bum that 19 year old Ryan Garcia knocked out in 1 round. In fact, McDonnell was on his way to getting TKO'd in his last fight but was declared a No Contest because of a cut

Would've been 4 weight world champ if Inoue didn't skip 112 division.

Was gonna say this too , Inoue is one skilled dude. My favorite current boxer atm.

Yeah I was a little surprised at how small he was compared to Mcdonnell. I don't think he could do as well at 122lbs

Going forward I've read that WBSS are planning to make Inoue vs Burnett right away since Inoue is Burnett's mandatory.
Some high stakes in rd 1. Already excited for that and whatever other fights they make

Monster indeed. Say what you want about Jaime, but he is no bum, and Inoue beat the breaks clean off him.

McDonnell simply could not handle the power coming his way, and Inoue felt it early . A monster in his prime....a genuine treat.

I'm glad it's not here but elsewhere reading other forums I almost hate to see guys achieve anything for all the crap you then have to read about how fraudulent their achievements are and how bad their opponents are and how they aren't special and they're actually protected and it's all hype. Every big win a guy gets, it's a little depressing. Congrats to The Monster though. Terrific work.

not a massive frame at all, but he is pretty lengthy. he can still put on some more weight, and since he's still very young i expect him to fill out a bit with age. this fight was over too quickly for us to really gauge how well he can box at BW, but it certainly showed us he packs fucking bricks in his hands. if he manages to knock out any other top opponent at BW, i see no reason for him not move up again.

being as tiny as he is definitely puts a ceiling on how far up he can move, though. but i don't really care, i just love watching this kid fight, no matter what weight it's at.

Wouldn't surprise me seeing Inoue at 122 in the near future.

It's basically a crime that Inoue isn't being promoted in the US. The guy has an aura when he fights.

Good win

Do you guys think he will stay at that weight? inoue looked freakishly small

Hes putting folks on notice for sure.

i hope he does for the WBSS tourney at least some big names and great fights to be made.
it is crazy though to think he and Tete could be matched with Tete being 5'9
