I was out walking my dog on a bike trail across the street from a university.

I see a college aged asian guy doing some weird movements on the side of the trail think he may be doing Tai Chi or something. When I get closer I hear he is screaming. Then I get closer and he is screaming I love you and some other gibberish and was not doing Tai Chi.

I figure he must have taken too much ecstasy or something. I try to steer clear of him and keep my distance and walk by him. I look back and he is screaming and then lies on the ground. I was worried about him but wasn't sure what I could do for him and I didn't have my cell phone.

I keep walking and then all the sudden the guy is running towards me and has a pissed off look on his face and is calling me Larry and I couldn't make out what he was saying.

I don't trust my dog off leash so I really didn't want to get into anything physical with him. I figured he on drugs or had a nervous breakdown or something. He wasn't a big guy so I wasn't too concerned other than about my dog and the busy street next to the bike trail.

I told him firmly I am not Larry. You must have me confused with someone else. Then on a dime his face changed and started telling me he loved me.

I turned and walked quickly down the trail to get out of his immediate space. Two college aged girls who looked like pretty serious runners went running by the other way and I didn't know if I should warn them about the guy who was maybe 30 yards down the path. I didn't but I watched to make sure they were okay running by him.

I walk to the nearest signal and see a student on a bike and ask if he has a cell phone and he says yes. I then ask if call call the police. He then looks at me like I am crazy and bikes off.

As I walked home and the adrenaline went down I couldn't decide if I should let it go or call the police. If the guy didn't come at me aggressively, I might let it go. But if he did that to a woman I would not feel good about letting it go so I called the police and they said they are already there.

What would have you done in this circumstance?

You guys could have tag teamed those 2 college chicks

I'd like to remind you the Asians are the current record holders in single event mass shootings in the USA.

Once I noticed he was acting strange, I would have turned around and walked the other way.

Anyway you look at it, I am not going to be calling the police.

Acquire a cell phone

When he lied on the trail after screaming stuff like I love you and other gibberish and tore up a cup he was holding, I thought who would I call if I did have my cell phone?

I was concerned about his well being. He was clearly not all there but he hadn't been a threat to me.

Do you call 911 in that type of circumstance?

Two days ago I saw the neighborhood homeless guy sitting on the ground leaning against a building jerking off.

As I walked home and the adrenaline went down I couldn't decide if I should let it go or call the police.

i would. hes a threat to public safety and possibly himself. its pretty much a no brainer for me.

theres always a public defender to help his crazy ass if he ends up needing one

Must be nice to encounter so few mentally unstable people your instinct isn't just to keep walking and pretend they don't exist.

Should have told him you loved him back. Unless you're some sort of prude or something.

Yeah "dog walking"

I get it bud.

I'm going back to Waterloo where the vampires hang out.

I would of dropped that motherfucker

Call the cops and get him some help. He's a danger to himself and maybe others.

You should've said: Go home bobby digital, you're fucked up

Carried my cellphone, idiot. Lol

You could always try out-crazying him. A rare play from my playbook is to start staring slack-jawed and let some drool dribble out of my mouth while groaning. It gets rid of people I don't want to talk to pretty easily.

I would've told him to go back to Chinatown before kicking him in the balls and landing the deadly overhand right thrown correctly
