I am in Canada and the stuff available was underwhelming. But in recent times, netflix has just grown like a monster. They are grabbing every show around and creating even more shows and movies.

As of right now, I find it easier to click on netflix than to flick through channels, and I have hbo and all that stuff, or to even bother with pirate bay.

Netflix is sort of genius to get to the spot where all I do is turn on my TV and click the netflix button.

Sensory overload so you'd forget what Trudeau is doing atm.

Same. I'd just stream shows and movies other ways but Netflix just became more convenient.
I'd consider Canadians lucky, Australia has shit all in terms of content.

Hulu is pretty dope too bad they lost the Criterion Collection.

I have netflix and hate it. I get that it's high quality, std free entertainment but I don't really care for 90% of their stuff.

but that's the same for tv innit? 90% shit you dont want.

i've always wanted to use innit.

I was the same way but realized my internet plan has a hefty amount of bandwidth so its fine to stream.

Got fed up with pirated streams always loading 10 ad windows even with ad blocker, and some cases after pausing and resuming loads a page having me to reload again.

For the price its decent, and it keeps track of when I left off which is great. The only issue like you mentioned is the Cdn side is seriously lacking.

Really I pay for the convenience

Yeah thats true. I do see new stuff and their own special TV and films, but when I look at it, the bulk of the content is from old films I've seen throughout my life.

Is there any great content that you actually need Netflix for ?

Everything is so easy to download.

Am I crazy or was everyone downloading everything they watch for free in 2008, fast forward 10 years and theyre now happily paying for it again?

I used to watch Netflix. Now I hate it. I haven't watched Netflix in months and haven't missed it.

Why wouldn't you happily be paying for things you watch?

I love it. I just wish they had room for old campy shit like they used to. Like Buck Rogers, Battlestar Gallatica, obscure stuff, and more music stuff. But I watch so many shows I never would have.....Supernatural, Wynona Earp, Longmire, American Horror, Van Helsing, not to mention the great Netflix originals...

My kids basically don't even watch regular broadcast TV anymore. The only reason we keep a service for sports and I'm about ready to turn that off.

For several years the movies available on Netflix Canada have been better than the ones available in the US.

That's exactly why I don't like it. I prefer the streaming sites to find exactly what I want. That has replaced TV for me.

I think enough people actually want to pay for good content as long as the price is right. Legitimate platforms are so much better to use torrents and pirated streams.

Netflix are doing it right - offering an abundance of content for an amount the average person isn't going to miss.

They've gotten better though. There was a point in time before their original content when you only had:

a) old seasons of *some* good shows and
b) every shitty sequel of every movie franchise BUT WITHOUT THE ONLY GOOD MOVIE IN THE MOTHERFUCKING SERIES

I've spent probably days of my life by now scrolling through b) in sheer disbelief that some of these titles even existed.

Much better now.

Ya for sure it has gotten better. I still do like some of the stuff on it like the documentaries and the odd moment where I actually find an older movie I like.

I'm just not too big on shows which is where net flix really shines. It is amazing for netflix and chill though I will say that.

Netflix is so cheap that it's worth paying for.

That is the reason it will survive as more and more people move to streaming and android boxes.
