So I started collecting vinyl again

Ultimate nostalgia and my favorite industrial album of all time

Bought the original 1990 pressing for $45 which is actually a good deal

Just copped a limited re-issue of Master P "The Ghetto's Tryin to Kill Me"

This originally came out in 1994, and was re-released in 1997 but Master P had a falling out with King George and as a result cut him completely out of the album, so the re-release sucked. Songs were cut up and the track list re-arranged plus newer songs added that didn't fit. The re-release was the only option if you wanted it because the original is super rare and goes for hundreds of dollars if you can find one.

I've been wanting this album for 25 years!

I'd love to get my hands on a first pressing of Doggystyle with Gz up Hoes down on it but they go for like $500

Ya, no way I'd pay that either. I don't obsess over the pressing provided there is a repress that is true to the original. In the case of this Master P one, the original only came out in cd and cassette so this is actually the first pressing of it outside of the bastardized re-release and that didn't have a cover.

Please don't make me get out my 300+ vinyls from the 60s, 70s and 80s now.

Like a time capsule/rune/relic thingy. I don't remember half of what's there.

I can relate.

Picked up a 1968 Monarch pressing of Waiting for the Sun. The copy I have still has that orange sticker they put on from the factory too.

I also picked up a 73 US pressing of Dark Side of the Moon since it had both original posters and stickers in it.

I've been crate digging for over 25 years. Had up to 500 records at one point but developed an addiction to collecting rare books and started selling all my vinyl to get my book fix.

I have probably 300 ish. Got right into movie soundtracks. Most expensive one is probably the Red Sonja LP. Cost about $100 AU including postage.
Soundtracks are my bread and butter as well. Had quite a few Giallo Soundtracks worth a few hundred back in the day.

Interestingly enough the only soundtrack I have is the Back to the Future one. I am going to buy The Crow though. Probably my GOAT soundtrack. I came across one at Amoeba Records in Hollywood a while back, but it was the black and white colored disc limited edition version and they wanted $100 for it.. so I passed. I'm all about the rare and limited versions, but I'd rather just spend $40 on the regular pressing.

Both solid Soundtracks. I gobble up anything from my childhood (80s-90s). Yeah prices can get nuts. Always see PSAs about gambling but there should be one for vinyl. Shit can ruin your life if you get the bug.
