I'll PM you sir.

Val does it once and its a huge problem.

GSP did it for half of his career and people call him the GOAT, or one of them.
He is the goat or one of them and gsp would always also win in striking as he dominates wrestling

Takedowns are legitimate scoring. Merab has unbelievable stamina, keeps after it for the wrestle fuck five rounds no problemo.
...O'Malley knew this was coming. He should have trained better cardio, takedown defense and getting back up or trying a submission from the bottom.
...Sure, Merab can attempt more damage and submission attempts to make his style more exciting.

...Grasso had a few nice submission attempts from the bottom.

...Here is a move that I would like to see be legal. It would give the fighter that is on their back another option. Maybe make the ground and pounder think twice. There was a few times where Grasso could have come across Shevchenko's jaw with her heel.

Shevchenko clearly had the advantage on the feet but decided to make it a hugfest for whatever reason.

O'malley barely threw a strike until rd 5 and if he opened up he likely would have won, Merab was gassed in rd 5 because he had staph. He was too afraid of the takedown to throw strikes and Merab took him down anyways. Not a fan of O'malley but he was the only one that landed anything significant in the fight. Scoring system is what it is.

I will say I disagree with the sentiment that the card was all trash tho. Watching Ortega get the piss beaten out of him is always nice. Also Rodriguez vs Osbourne and the Ribovics fight were both great.

Even in GSP's most inactive 5 round decisions, he landed a decent amount more and/or had more submission attempts than shevchenko did last night. Comparing shevchenko's gameplan last night to GSP is rude. She made the most boring GSP fights look reasonably exciting by comparison.

Couldn’t imagine entering a fight where my goal is to hold my opponent down or against the cage …..embarrassing
Get off the couch then fatty, hit the gym and make it to the pro circuit and show us your incredible striking ability.

No the GSP comparisons are quite apt. Not just for this fight but for the latter half of her career

HOW DARE YOU. show me one 5 round decision where gsp landed only 45 strikes or less with no submission attempts or no knockdown. I challenge you!

GSP's least inactive five round decisions are still more active than that.

I See the comparison clearly. Valentina used the striking to set up the wrestling and dominated in that she beat her everywhere the fight went but started with taking reading her and outpacing her in the striking. The second she looked like she was going to catch on, valentina changed the pace. I feel like that's the long and short of what gsp does.

GSP does that, but with more activity, and I thought the lack of activity was the key thing everyone was complaining about.

If Grasso/Schevchenko III had been a 25 round fight, Valentina would not have gotten close to a finish. There was literally no damage done, not even any exhaustion. They were fresh as fucking daisies after five rounds.

There's not a GSP fight ever that is even remotely comparable.

Completely disagree, the blame was 100% on Velentina, Alexa was actually trying to finish the fight.

And her career was on the line because if she didn't win a belt? LOL, maybe she should do us a favor and do retire if this is how its gonna be against any high level opponent.

I've posted this comment twice already, but apparently people still need to be told it.

Shevchenko WAS trying to win the fight, which is why three rounds ended with her on Grasso's back and a fourth ended with her in mounted crucifix. But at this level, in championship fights, your opponent isn't going to just let you do that to them. They're going to defend. They're going to fight back. Give Grasso credit for stifling Shevchenko's grappling, sure, but recognize that she had to do that BECAUSE Shevchenko was constantly chasing the finish.

fights are 5 rounds alexa was worked and tired, valentina would have done whatever she wanted for as long as she wants because she is unstoppable when against a scrub like grasso.

In 25 rounds, grasso would still not win.

so whatever.

Im sorry your girl lost sir, I know you must be sad.
I think you should call a random family member and call them bologna nips and hang up.

They will be confused and you will be laughing ..win win lol.
It’s okay she overachieved, and she made a multiple time world Muay Thai champion into a wrestler, she did well
