So how exactly is it determined to be a "tainted supplement"?

How does that work exactly? So the accused uses the tainted supplement defense, what are the proceedings to prove that? I dont see how that can be proven. Does the accused send usada all the supplements they have taken and have them test them for the illegal metabolites? What if the accused deliberately taints the supplement with external illegal metabolites to get exonerated? How can they tell the difference between intent and misfortune to wrongdoing?

I'd imagine it would involve testing the stuff they said caused it and if it ran out it's a big sorry but fuck you

USADA goes to gnc and tests the supplement to see if it matches

so the "accused" cannot "deliberately taint the supplement with external illegal metabolites to get exonerated"

Jon Jones knowingly took steroids. He finally got caught.

Lol its safe to say all ufc fighters don't do roids they just bought tainted supplements from GNC..Is Normal

Only time I got gains from "supplements" is when I did Dbol and test lmao..all that Gnc shit is just sugar water

See the Yoel case. Its always used as an excuse, but Yoels case shows it can happen

Find a sample of said supplement that is tainted, and hasn't been in your possession.

It's pretty easy.

How is it proven? You look at the ingredients in the supplement and see if one that isn't listed is in there. They likely test another container of the same supplement to see if it's in there and if it is it's pretty clear cut. If there is something in there that isn't listed it is fairly unlikely the fighter knew about it

No it's not probably. Jones's test result numbers have been suspect in the past. He finally got caught red handed.

Iirc, we just recently saw a guy everyone "knew" was using roids successfully defend himself by proving his supplements were tainted. Sit back and let the process play out while pondering the crucial difference between probably and certainly.

I guess but how does it even get tainted in the first place. I dont see how it can just accidentally get mixed in like oops i spilled some steroids in your supplement sorry.

holy shit are you trolling

supplement companies either (1) contain banned substances as a LISTED INGREDIENT or (2) add shit that isn't on the ingredient list so the kids will be like "wow it works" and then fade it out

maybe the word "taint" is throwing you off?

Right? All these questions with an easy answer. Purchase a different container of the same thing and if there is something in there they most likely didn't take it on purpose.

It doesn't matter if they were tainted unless you had the supplement tested by the lab and then they got tainted after that. Dana even said Jones could have called USADA and told them what supplements he was taking so they could test them in advance.

These guys are all full of shit and this is just the latest excuse.

I dont know, I dont use supplements or have any idea how the business operates because I already know that shit is just a marketing scam. People were getting buff and strong as fuck way before gnc or steroids were even invented.

in a few cases usada has purchased the unopened supplement from off the shelf and ran it through laboratory tests and discovered that the supplement does indeed contain traces of a banned substance- something that was never disclosed on the ingredients.

welcome to the shady and unregulated supplement industry.
