No doubt he had a say in the decision to take this fight and Holly strikes me as the type to really trust in her coaches guidance. Jackson, who guided Bones(LHW Champ) to NOT take a fight with Sonnen(MW) is now guiding perhaps the greatest prospect in the womens BW division to take on the mighty Ronda, a lot earlier than most people expected..

This is intriguing.

Jackson has proven to be highly effective especially when working with highly talented athletes and I think we can categorize Holm as such. Superior vision, gameplanning, mentoring, cornering, etc, like him or not, the fact that he is a part of this makes it that much more interesting. I'm the furthest thing from a Jackson fan and I'll never forget how he shit on 151's parade but they dont call him the 'mad genius' for nothing.

Ultimately, Jackson believes Holly can beat Ronda, as premature as that may appear and he's willing to jump the gun to prove it... or they just want the payday.

I've wanted to see Gina vs Ronda for years. I'd put Gina in there with Holly and Cyborg.

I believe the consensus was that Holly wanted another fight or two, she has hinted this much in each of her post-fight comments. Then, I think it was about a month ago, Jackson is quoted as saying that Holm would be ready for Ronda by the end of the year. It seems that have lobbied for this fight and I don't think they did it out of haste. Nobody was expecting it, there is no reason to rush. The only thing that makes sense to me is that they know something we dont... or they just want the payday. Holly turns 34 in one month.
