Not reliably no, but regular masks still reduce transmission. Along with distancing and handwashing. All these things work better if both the Covid positive person and the Covid negative people follow the same precautions.

If everybody followed the public health experts, they would have realized they were mildly inconvenienced, hospitals wouldn’t have been jammed, and less people would have died.

Really basic stuff, but we still had uneducated entitled men and women crying about the inconvenience being forced on them.
