To the untrained eye, perhaps. Had you engaged in professional sports, you would know it's nigh impossible to recover so quickly after severe injuries and traumas your body is subjected to and this goes double for contact sports. If nothing else, all of them use drugs to recover in off-season time. Deal with it.

Maybe not during competitions but there's nothing that would convince me he wasn't using them to regain his health while he was sidelined.
