p.s. The two times I was in the US and wanted to watch a UFC PPV live, through ESPN, there were errors/disturbances after I'd paid, and I couldn't watch or missed several pre-lims. So again, pass. Oh well, I tried

Not in US so Paramount plus.deal does nothing for me right now. And don't have cable so still streaming unless easy to access CBS live streams with VPN and no other subscription. Though if on regular CBS enough maybe I'll get basic cable unless they do the thing that CBS Canada plays something else.

Lived through through 90's when PPV was revealed as a scam. Now it's subscription models.

In Ireland,
we already had UFC events (for free) on TV.
So... why pay extra?

In Canada,
we have reliable (free) streams since 2012.
Why pay for tv & streaming at all ?

Based on what you said it's like why does a $7.7 billion deal need more money when the quality of fight cards have gone down year after year. Plus, to your point, if it's free there why do I need to pay X dollars for the same service somewhere else?
